You'll combine hands-on manual testing with building and maintaining automated test suites, working closely with developers and product managers from requirements through release. You'll also play an important part in triaging and investigating issues reported by customers and Support.\nOur product suite includes an ASP.NET / Angular web platform, Windows desktop applications, backend services, and Android/iOS mobile apps. You'll work across all of them, and grow our automation from web and desktop into mobile.\nThis is a hybrid position. You'll be required to come into our Annapolis, Maryland office three times a week.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nManual testing\nReview requirements, specifications, and designs, and give timely, meaningful feedback.\n\nPlan and run functional, exploratory, regression, integration, permission, and user acceptance testing across web, desktop, and mobile applications.\n\nWrite clear test plans, test cases, and checklists using appropriate test design techniques.\n\nTest APIs and data: validate requests and responses with API tools and check results in the database with SQL.\n\nFind, reproduce, and document defects with clear steps and evidence, and work with developers to understand the root cause and verify fixes.\n\nTest automation\nDesign, build, and maintain automated test suites:\nWeb: Playwright with C#, and SmartBear Reflect, an AI-assisted test automation tool.\n\nDesktop: FlaUI and Playwright for Windows desktop applications.\n\nMobile: Help evaluate and introduce Android (and potentially iOS) test automation.\n\nIntegrate automated tests into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, and keep them reliable, fast, and maintainable.\n\nBuild reusable test environments and test data, e.g. virtual machine snapshots and seeded test accounts.\n\nRelease quality and testing\nSupport product releases: identify changes and risk areas, plan and run regression testing.\n\nTrack quality metrics, such as defect counts and automation coverage, and use them to improve the process.\n\nIssue triage and investigation\nInvestigate root causes of customers’ issues with developers using logs, database queries, browser and API tools, and recent code changes; distinguish configuration, data, and environment issues from code defects.\n\nVerify fixes and add regression tests so resolved issues stay resolved.\n\nCollaboration and leadership\nWork closely with developers, product managers, support, and DevOps to deliver high-quality software.\n\nMentor other QA team members, and share knowledge of products, tools, and testing practices.\n\nKeep up with new testing tools, including AI-assisted testing, and continuously improve team efficiency.\n\nSkills and Qualifications\nRequirements:\n5+ years of software quality assurance experience, including at least 2 years building and maintaining automated tests.\n\nStrong manual testing skills: test design, exploratory and regression testing, and reproducing and isolating defects.\n\nExperience triaging and investigating reported issues, including root-cause analysis with developers.\n\nHands-on test automation experience with Playwright (C# preferred) or similar frameworks.\n\nWorking knowledge of C# / .NET, enough to read code, review pull requests, and write test code.\n\nStrong SQL skills (SQL Server preferred) for data validation and investigation.\n\nExperience testing web APIs with tools such as Postman or Swagger. Comfortable with browser developer tools (network, console).\n\nExperience testing web and desktop applications. Mobile testing is a plus.\n\nSolid knowledge of Jira, Confluence, a test management system (e.g. Zephyr), and Git / Azure DevOps.\n\nExcellent analytical, troubleshooting, and written communication skills. You write bug reports developers can act on right away.\n\nA high level of ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.\n\nNice to haves:\nSecurity testing experience is preferred, e.g. authentication and authorization checks and OWASP concepts.\n\nExperience with FlaUI or other Windows desktop UI automation.\n\nExperience with SmartBear Reflect or other AI-assisted or low-code test tools.\n\nIntroduce mobile test automation for our Android apps: evaluate tools, then set up and grow a test suite, starting with Appium, on emulators and real scanner devices (e.g. Zebra, Honeywell). Experience with Espresso / UI Automator, XCUITest, or Maestro is a plus.\n\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps), virtual machines, and test environment management.\n\nFamiliarity with ASP.NET MVC / Web API, Angular, and multi-tenant SaaS applications.\n\nExperience with logging and monitoring tools such as Datadog or Application Insights.\n\nRelevant testing certifications (e.g. ISTQB).\n\nEducation\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n\nWhy work at FacilityOS?\nWe work hard and play hard and we do both with passion and respect for one another.
