This person will be responsible for managing the general ledger and reviewing journal entries, owning inventory and cost accounting for our manufacturing operations, and reviewing and approving accounts payable transactions, among other general operational accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing cost accounting experience, solid knowledge of both US GAAP and Korean statutory accounting requirements, and the ability to partner closely with our global finance and operations teams.\nIn this role, you will:\nManage the general ledger for the South Korea entity, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and on time in accordance with US GAAP and Korean statutory requirements.\nReview and approve journal entries prepared by the local accounting team, ensuring proper support, account coding, and adherence to close deadlines.\nOwn inventory and cost accounting for the manufacturing operation, cost allocations, and analysis of purchase price, labor, and overhead.\nOversee inventory valuation, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes in partnership with manufacturing and supply chain teams.\nReview and approve accounts payable transactions, ensuring proper authorization, coding, and compliance with company policy and local regulations.\nLead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for the South Korea entity, including account reconciliations and supporting schedules.\nCoordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and government authorities on statutory audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance in South Korea.\nPrepare local statutory financial statements and support consolidation with the corporate US accounting team.\nDesign, document, and maintain internal controls over the general ledger, inventory, and accounts payable processes.\nIdentify and drive process improvements and system enhancements (e.g., ERP) to support accounting operations as the site scales.\nMentor and develop local accounting team members.\nWe are looking for people who:\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Korean CPA, US CPA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.\n7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on inventory and cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.\nStrong knowledge of US GAAP and Korean GAAP/K-IFRS, with experience preparing or supporting statutory financial statements in South Korea\nDemonstrated experience managing month-end close, general l.edger, and accounts payable processes.\nExperience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.\nBusiness-level fluency in Korean and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with the US headquarters finance team.\nStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, growing manufacturing environment.\nExperience in a startup or high-growth manufacturing company is a plus, particularly in battery, automotive, or advanced materials industries.\nWork Location: Cheonan, South Korea\nFactorial Energy is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity at all levels.
