About the team\nWe're a team of 200+ Product Engineers building Business Management solution that actually works for the people using it. Our core stack is Ruby on Rails and React but the interesting work right now is what we're building on top of that: agentic workflows, LLM-integrated features, systems that behave probabilistically rather than deterministically.\nOur Infrastructure team’s mission is to keep the Factorial application running 24/7, ensure its performance, scalability and security, as well as research improvements to enable Product Engineers to develop new use cases adding value to our customers.\nWhat are we looking for?\n8+ years of Software/Systems Engineering experience, with 5+ years as Cloud SRE\n\nSolid experience monitoring and troubleshooting large-scale cloud deployments\n\nHands-on with Terraform or Ansible for IaC\n\nObservability experience with Datadog, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry\n\nProficiency with AWS or Azure\n\nSomeone able to debug issues in Kubernetes clusters\n\nExperience managing large MySQL clusters with HA configuration\n\nSomeone who breaks down complex problems into clear, shareable elements\n\nSomeone who enjoys mentoring and helping others grow\n\nSomeone who can communicate professionally in English\n\n Please note this is not a backend or frontend Software Engineering role.\nWhat You’ll be doing?\nAs a Staff Engineer you’ll lead technical discussions and provide guidance to more junior engineers on best practices and coding standards.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of features.\n\nIdentify and troubleshoot software defects and implement effective solutions.\n\nYou will be a product-centric engineer, taking ownership of big initiatives, and being interested in the outcome, not just the output. About the outcome, you’ll also work with your team members to establish goals and plan a quarterly roadmap, putting special attention to the technical needs of our domain.\n\nYou will review code, and get feedback on your own code.\n\nYou will learn from the entire team, both on technical topics (performance, architecture…) and core skills, in an environment driven by engineering quality.\n\nYou will share your knowledge, through the RFCs you write, pairing sessions, our mentoring programme or the occasional appearance in the monthly Tech All Hands.\n\nHow We Work (A Coruña Office)\nAt Factorial, we believe the best products are built when people come together, in person to collaborate, challenge ideas, and move fast. That’s why our Engineering Teams follows an office-first, flexible approach.\nWe work on-site four days a week, using that time to connect, align, and innovate as a team. However, we also understand the importance of focus and flexibility, so we support remote work when it makes sense - whether for deep work, personal needs, or just a change of scenery.\nThis balance helps us stay agile, creative, and closely connected, while giving everyone the space to do their best work.\nAt Factorial we don't evaluate you by the years of experience you have, we evaluate your knowledge and skills. How? We have a Career Path with a rubric framework where we define what is expected for each experience level and skill. This framework allows you to know at which level you're right now and what you need to keep growing. As we love transparency, our Career Path includes the salaries for each level and we share it during the first interview to make sure we're aligned.\nThe hiring process\nIntro Call → Chat with our Talent Partner about your journey, current goals. We’ll be comparing our expectations and making sure we match on a human level.\n\nHiring Manager Interview → We’ll deep dive into your product mindset, teamwork, and problem-solving. Similarly to the first one, this is about making sure we are a fit and can work together.\n\nTechnical Interview with our Factorial engineers. We'll provide an incident situation and we expect you to guide us through it like you normally would.\n\nOne last coffee-chat with our VP of Engineering, where you can get all the answers about Factorial’s culture, business vision, or anything else that interests you.\nThe whole process is remote, using videoconferencing tools!\n\nAbout Factorial\nFactorial is the AI for Business that knows companies, connects how work happens across the business, and turns that context into action.\nFounded in Barcelona in 2016, we now have +1,700 employees serving more than 16,000 companies across 112 countries.\nFactorial started with a simple idea: companies were spending too much time managing processes and not enough time doing the work they were hired to do: their best work.\nBut as companies grow, work gets more disconnected. More people, more tools, more information, and more time spent connecting the dots. Generic AI can answer questions, but it doesn’t know your company. Every time, you have to give it the context.\nFactorial is different. Because it’s inside the company, it already knows how it works, including its people, processes, policies, and data. So you can ask it to do real work, from screening candidates and managing expenses to answering questions and creating reports.\nAI isn’t the goal. Giving people back their time is.\nWhen work changes, so do we.\nWe believe in diverse talent: we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and strongly encourage people of diverse experiences and identities to apply.\nWe believe in inclusion: we are committed to equal opportunities and actively promote workplace inclusion of people with disabilities. If you would like to learn more about our inclusive recruitment processes, you are welcome to indicate so optionally and we will share additional information with you.\nOur Values\nWe own it: We take responsibility for every project. We make decisions, not excuses.\n\nWe learn and teach: We're dedicated to learning something new every day and, above all, share it.\n\nWe partner: Every decision is a team decision. We trust each other.\n\nWe grow fast: We act fast. We think that the worst mistake is not learning from them.\n\nWanna learn more about us?
