This role works closely with employees, benefit providers, payroll, and leadership to keep processes accurate, timely, and easy to understand.\nWhat you will do and achieve\nBenefits administration\nCoordinate employee enrollment, changes, and terminations for medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and other benefit plans.\n\nSupport annual open enrollment, including employee communications and information sessions.\n\nReview benefit and payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.\n\nRespond to employee questions about coverage, eligibility, claims, and qualifying life events.\n\nWork with benefit brokers, insurance carriers, and other vendors.\n\nMaintain required notices and documentation.\n\nSupport COBRA administration, leave coordination, and benefits reporting.\n\nPeople Operations\nCoordinate onboarding and offboarding, including paperwork, system access, benefit enrollment, and exit documentation.\n\nHRIS and systems ownership, such as maintaining accurate employee data, troubleshooting workflow issues, and coordinating system updates with vendors.\n\nProcess employee status, compensation, manager, and personal-information changes.\n\nAssist with payroll preparation by reviewing benefit deductions and employee changes.\n\nPrepare standard HR reports and complete employment verification requests.\n\nHelp document and improve HR procedures.\n\nProvide administrative support for employee programs, audits, and compliance activities.\n\nEmployee support\nServe as a primary point of contact for routine HR and benefits inquiries, providing timely responses and escalating complex issues appropriately.\n\nExplain policies and benefits in clear, practical language.\n\nHandle employee information with discretion.\n\nRoute sensitive or complex matters to the appropriate HR team member.\n\nWhat success looks like\nDuring the first six months, the coordinator should:\nProcess benefit and employee changes accurately and on time.\n\nGive employees clear, consistent answers or find the right answer quickly.\n\nMaintain complete and reliable HR records.\n\nBuild productive working relationships with payroll and benefit vendors.\n\nIdentify recurring errors or questions and improve the related process or communication.\n\nQualifications\nRequired\n2-4 years of experience in HR coordination, benefits administration, payroll support, or a related role.\n\nWorking knowledge of employee benefits and common HR processes.\n\nStrong attention to detail and follow-through.\n\nClear written and verbal communication.\n\nAbility to handle confidential information responsibly.\n\nExperience with HRIS, payroll, benefits, or applicant-tracking systems.\n\nProficiency with spreadsheets, email, and document-management tools.\n\nAbility to manage several deadlines without losing accuracy.\n\nPreferred\nAssociate or bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field.\n\nExperience supporting open enrollment and employee leave programs.\n\nFamiliarity with applicable requirements such as ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ACA, and state leave laws.\n\nExperience with Rippling or similar HRIS\n\nSHRM-CP, PHR, CEBS, or related certification.\n\nThis is an in-office position (5 days/week) in San Francisco (walking distance to
