You’ll be responsible for engineering execution, technical direction, team development, and the reliability of the systems your team owns.\nRequirementsWhat You’ll Do\nLead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, creating a high-performing and collaborative engineering culture.\n\nOwn the technical direction and delivery of systems supporting lending and credit products.\n\nWork closely with Product, Risk, Data, and other teams to define technical solutions and delivery priorities.\n\nDrive the design, development, and scaling of reliable backend services and distributed systems.\n\nParticipate in architectural decisions and ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and resilient.\n\nSet engineering standards around code quality, testing, deployment, observability, and system reliability.\n\nSupport engineers with technical guidance, code reviews, architecture discussions, and complex problem-solving.\n\nIdentify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and system reliability issues.\n\nEnsure effective planning, prioritisation, and timely delivery of engineering initiatives.\n\nEstablish and track engineering metrics around delivery, development, and performance management.\n\nParticipate in hiring and help build a strong engineering team.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n7+ years of software engineering experience, with significant experience in backend development.\n\n2+ years of experience managing or leading engineering teams.\n\nAI native development familiarity\n\nHands-on coding experience and contribution is must to have, you would be expected to design and code the new system and lead with examples.\n\nStrong experience designing and building distributed systems and scalable backend applications.\n\nExperience working within lending, credit, fintech, payments, or a closely related financial domain.\n\nStrong understanding of relational database design, optimisation, indexing, and query performance.\n\nStrong knowledge of system design, software architecture, APIs, microservices, and asynchronous/event-driven systems.\n\nProven experience delivering complex technical projects from design through production.\n\nStrong understanding of software development practices, CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and production operations.\n\nExperience mentoring engineers and developing technical talent.\n\nStrong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.\n\nAbility to balance technical quality, business priorities, and delivery timelines.\n\nNice to Have\nExperience building or scaling credit decisioning, loan management, repayment, collections, or risk systems.\n\nExperience working with high-volume transactional systems.\n\nExperience with cloud infrastructure and modern DevOps practices.\n\nExperience leading distributed or geographically dispersed engineering teams.\n\nExperience hiring and
