Eligible locations are subject to change based on business needs and employment registration requirements.\nClearance Requirement: Active Secret Security Clearance required at time of employment\nCompensation Range: $137,742 - $177,742 annually (dependent upon experience)\nTravel Requirement: Up to 25% domestic and international travel\nPosition Summary\nThe Program Manager is responsible for the successful execution, integration, delivery, sustainment, and lifecycle management of a complex multinational Satellite Communications (SATCOM) program supporting NATO communications capabilities. This position provides leadership and oversight across all program activities, including system integration, deployment, logistics support, configuration management, cybersecurity compliance, quality assurance, technical documentation, training development, and long-term in-service support.\nThe Program Manager serves as the primary interface between the customer, subcontractors, internal stakeholders, and executive leadership, ensuring all contractual, technical, schedule, cost, and performance objectives are achieved. This role requires extensive experience managing defense communications programs, leading cross-functional teams, mitigating program risk, and delivering mission-critical capabilities in support of military and government customers.\nSupervisory position: Y N\nKey Responsibilities\nLead end-to-end program execution, ensuring achievement of technical, cost, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction objectives.\nServe as the primary customer interface and manage relationships with NATO, government, military, industry partners, and key stakeholders.\nDevelop and manage program plans, budgets, schedules, resources, performance metrics, and contractual requirements.\nProvide executive-level status reporting, conduct program reviews, and lead customer meetings and milestone events.\nOversee subcontractor, vendor, and supplier performance to ensure successful program delivery.\nDirect system integration, testing, deployment, acceptance, sustainment, and technical refresh activities.\nLead Integrated Product Support (IPS) planning and execution, including logistics, provisioning, maintenance, and supply chain operations.\nOversee development and delivery of training programs, technical documentation, and customer transition-to-operations activities.\nEnsure compliance with contractual, quality, cybersecurity, security, and regulatory requirements.\nIdentify, assess, and mitigate program risks, issues, and corrective actions while driving continuous process improvement.\nCoordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, logistics, cybersecurity, quality, operations, training, and support personnel to achieve program objectives.\nRequired Qualifications\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Program Management, or a related field.\nProject Management Professional (PMP) certification, preferred.\nMaster’s degree preferred.\nExperience\n10+ years of program management experience supporting defense, aerospace, telecommunications, SATCOM, or military communications programs.\nExperience managing programs valued at $10M+ with multiple stakeholders and geographically dispersed teams.\nProven experience managing system integration, deployment, sustainment, and lifecycle support programs.\nDemonstrated success leading customer-facing defense or government contracts.\nStrong understanding of Program Management principles, methodologies, and best practices.\nExperience with risk management, integrated scheduling, resource planning, and performance measurement.\nKnowledge of systems engineering lifecycle processes and configuration management.\nUnderstanding of Integrated Product Support (IPS) and logistics management concepts.\nStrong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.\nExcellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to lead cross-functional teams in dynamic environments.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.\nCompensation - Salary\nAt Fairwinds, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location and experience.
