And ─ as “one of the Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America” ─ is focused on the mind/body/soul of team members through ourCulture of Care.\nThe Mechanical Designer will be responsible for creating mechanical parts and assemblies for products that are used within the renewable energy, microgrid, EV charging, crypto mining, and data center markets.\nThe Mechanical Designer will support the Design Engineering team using CAD tools to design and create both piece parts and multi-level assemblies of various products that are used within industry. Beyond the design activities, the individual will be expected to work with other disciplines within the organizations to validate the design of the product, including taking input on design requirements, evaluating various solutions, presenting design concepts, and making recommendations on final design solutions. This position should also have experience in material selection, component costing, fabrication processes, assembly processes, product verification and validation, and design trade-offs.\nThis position will create 2D prints and 3D models for both piece part components and assemblies along with assembly documentation. Understanding drawing standards, Change Notice practices, and creation on Bills of Material are required for this position.\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS\nEducation: Associates Degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent experience.\nExperience: Minimum 3 years of product design experience, 5 years of product design experience preferred.\nProficient in 2D/3D CAD design software (Inventor, CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo)\nExperience in sheet metal or heavy fabrication design\nExperience in Mechanical Design and Drafting\nExperience in Bill of Material creation and Change Notice processes\nExperience in large 3D assemblies preferred\nExperience in casting, machining, roto-molded components, or fiber-reinforces plastic components preferred\nExperience in electrical components or equipment preferred\nTravel: 5-25%\nWork Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. Works a sufficient schedule to meet the expectations of the role.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nPerforms mechanical designs and calculations under the direct supervision of an Engineer or Team Lead.\nAssists in the preparation of mechanical designs for power and low voltage products.\nInteracts with the Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Industrial Engineering staff on a regular basis.\nPresents technical information during design meetings or reviews.\nCreates and updates 2D prints and 3D models for piece parts components.\nCreates and updates 3D layouts of top-level and sub-level assemblies.\nPrepare Bills of Materials and prepare Change Notices to release components and assemblies.\nSupports the creation of technical manuals for operation and maintenance of related products.\nSelf-checks own work to ensure accuracy to established drawing and design specifications and standards.\nProvide technical assistance for prototype and pilot builds along with production support as needed.\nWorks with suppliers to integrate various components into higher level system designs.\nSupports service, aftermarket, and installation teams as needed.\nPerforms other related duties as required and assigned.\nThe job description and responsibilities described are intended to provide guidelines for job expectations and the employees’ ability to perform the position described.
