The scope includes internet routing, private connectivity, overlay networks, DNS, IP address management, cloud-provider integration, and high-performance Linux networking.\nYou will work across the networking stack - from BGP announcements and private peering to kernel-level performance tuning. The goal is to make our network fast, reliable, secure, isolated, and easy to operate.\nWhat you'll do:\nDesign, build, validate, and operate public and private networks across the public platform and private compute clusters\n\nUse AI aggressively to automate and accelerate network provisioning, configuration, validation, monitoring, and recovery\n\nManage ASNs, public IP prefixes, and private address space (allocation, registration, announcement, lifecycle)\n\nBuild and operate BGP routing: route policies, communities, filtering, traffic engineering, and failover\n\nAnnounce customer and company IP ranges from physical infrastructure and cloud providers, including BYOIP integrations\n\nEstablish private peering with customers, partners, data centers, internet exchanges, and cloud providers\n\nBuild private and overlay networks using VXLAN, IPsec, WireGuard, and Tailscale\n\nOperate DNS networking patterns including anycast DNS and mDNS\n\nTune the Linux networking stack for high throughput, low latency, and large connection counts\n\nBuild network observability and diagnostics using metrics, logs, flow data, active probes, and packet captures\n\nDevelop reusable tooling, standards, documentation, and runbooks\n\nCollaborate with customers and internal teams to translate connectivity, security, isolation, and performance requirements into sound network designs\n\nQualifications/Nice to Have::\n5+ years building and operating production network infrastructure\n\nStrong Linux networking: routing tables, policy routing, network namespaces, bonding, VLANs, bridges, firewalling, NAT, conntrack\n\nDeep BGP knowledge: route selection, communities, filtering, convergence, multipath, troubleshooting\n\nExperience managing ASNs, public IP space, BGP announcements, IPAM, RPKI/ROAs, IRR records\n\nExperience designing private IPv4/IPv6 address plans and preventing cross-customer/region conflicts\n\nProduction VXLAN overlay network experience\n\nProduction IPsec, WireGuard, or Tailscale experience\n\nExperience with anycast DNS and mDNS\n\nExperience with private peering and cloud provider interconnects\n\nLinux networking performance tuning: congestion control, queue disciplines, socket buffers, MTU, NIC offloads, RSS/RPS/XPS, IRQ affinity\n\nPacket-level troubleshooting: iproute2, tc, ethtool, tcpdump, Wireshark, mtr\n\nAnsible or equivalent network configuration automation\n\nEVPN as a VXLAN control plane\n\nFRRouting, BIRD, or similar software-routing platforms\n\nAWS Direct Connect, Google Cloud Interconnect, Azure ExpressRoute\n\nInternet exchanges, cross-connects, route servers, colocation networking\n\nDDoS detection, mitigation, scrubbing, BGP-based traffic diversion\n\neBPF, XDP, DPDK\n\nNetBox, Nautobot, Nornir\n\nAuthoritative or recursive DNS infrastructure at scale\n\nNetwork hardware: Arista, Juniper, Cisco\n\nKubernetes networking, service load balancing, CNI\n\nPython or Go\n\nWhat we offer at fal\nInteresting and challenging work\n\nA lot of learning and growth opportunities\n\nWe offer visa sponsorship and will help you relocate to San Francisco.\n\nHealth, dental, and vision insurance (US)\n\nRegular team events and offsites\n\nCompensation\n$180,000 -
