and safety-conscious Pump Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fuel pumps and associated equipment, ensuring efficient operations, minimal downtime, and compliance with safety standards.\n\n KEY RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nInstall, inspect, test, service, and repair fuel pumps and associated equipment.\n\nConduct preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, seals, filters, and piping systems.\n\nDiagnose mechanical and electrical faults and carry out necessary repairs.\n\nMonitor pump performance, pressure, flow rates, and operating efficiency.\n\nMaintain and service fuel transfer pumps, loading and offloading pumps, and dispensing equipment.\n\nInspect pumping systems for leaks, blockages, unusual vibrations, overheating, and pressure loss.\n\nReplace defective pump components, bearings, seals, and other worn-out parts.\n\nTest equipment after repairs to ensure proper functioning and safe operation.\n\nIdentify recurring equipment faults and recommend appropriate solutions.\n\nMaintain maintenance schedules and ensure timely servicing of all assigned equipment.\n\nConduct routine site visits to filling stations, fuel depots, and other company facilities.\n\nRespond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimise operational downtime.\n\nMaintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, spare parts, and maintenance activities.\n\nPrepare technical reports and communicate equipment faults to management.\n\nMonitor the use of maintenance tools, equipment, and spare parts to minimise wastage.\n\nAssist in sourcing and identifying suitable replacement parts for faulty equipment.\n\nEnsure compliance with company health, safety, and environmental procedures.\n\nFollow proper equipment isolation procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).\n\nIdentify and report fuel leaks, spills, fire hazards, and other unsafe conditions immediately.\n\nWork closely with operations teams to schedule maintenance without unnecessarily disrupting business activities.\n\nProvide technical guidance to operators on the proper use and basic care of pumping equipment.\n\nAssist with the installation and commissioning of new pumps and related systems.\n\nEnsure all maintenance work is carried out according to manufacturer specifications and approved procedures.\n\nPerform any other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor.\n\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE\n\nGrade 12 School Certificate or equivalent.\n\nCertificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Plant Maintenance, or a related technical field.\n\nAt least 2–3 years of relevant experience in pump maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting.\n\nPractical knowledge of fuel pumps, industrial pumping systems, motors, valves, and associated components.\n\nUnderstanding of preventive maintenance and safety procedures in petroleum-handling environments.\n\nStrong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\n\nAbility to prepare technical reports and work independently or as part of a team.\n\nWillingness to travel to company sites when required.\n\nAPPLICATION
