This role requires a sharp compliance mindset and strong risk-assessment skills to independently navigate intricate corporate structures, conduct Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and ensure total alignment with global AML/CFT regulations. As an Associate, you will act as a critical bridge between our commercial growth and risk mitigation, ensuring a seamless yet rigorous onboarding experience.\nKey Responsibilities\nComplex Onboarding & Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)\nEntity Unwrapping: Independently manage and execute end-to-end KYB and KYC checks for complex corporate structures, multi-layered entities, trusts, and funds.\n Advanced Risk Assessment: Perform thorough Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) on high-risk clients, Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), and entities in high-risk jurisdictions.\nEscalation & Resolution: Identify regulatory red flags, transaction anomalies, or suspicious activities, and prepare comprehensive risk narratives to escalate to the Compliance Manager.\nProcess Optimization & Collaboration\nWorkflow Refinement: Actively identify operational bottlenecks in the onboarding pipeline and collaborate with the team to optimize compliance workflows and tools.\nCross-Functional Partnering: Serve as a trusted point of contact for Sales, Relationship Managers, and Account Executives to provide clear, actionable guidance on missing documentation and onboarding statuses.\nPeer Support: Assist in onboarding and training junior analysts, serving as a primary resource for day-to-day procedural questions.\nRegulatory Compliance & Audit Support\n Regulatory Alignment: Maintain a deep, up-to-date understanding of local and international AML, CFT, and Sanctions (OFAC) regulations to ensure daily operations remain fully compliant.\n Policy Contribution: Partner with the Compliance Manager to update internal checklists, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as regulations evolve.\nAudit Readiness: Assist in gathering documentation and preparing files for internal audits, bank partner reviews, and regulatory inspections.\n Data Management & Reporting\n Data Integrity: Maintain flawless, audit-ready client records, ensuring absolute data confidentiality in line with global privacy standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).\nMetrics Tracking: Help compile regular reports on onboarding volumes, turnaround times, and pass rates to assist leadership in capacity planning.\nQualifications\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Criminology, Law, or a related field.\nExperience: 2-4 years of direct experience in institutional KYC/KYB compliance, financial crime investigations, or risk management within fintech, banking, or digital assets.\n Technical Proficiency: Experience navigating modern compliance software and identity verification tools (e.g., Persona, Alloy, ComplyAdvantage, or similar tech stacks).\nAnalytical Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to spot patterns, anomalies, and hidden risks in complex documentation.\nCommunication: Crisp verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory concepts to non-compliance stakeholders.\nPreferred Qualifications\nCertifications: ACAMS, CKYCA, or progress toward a professional compliance certification.\nCrypto/Web3 Exposure: Basic understanding of blockchain mechanics, wallet tracking, or experience onboarding digital asset/crypto-native clients.\nThe base pay for this role is expected to be between $94,000 to $119,000 in the New York City Area. This expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role will also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance linked bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.
