Please note:  This is a compensation range. Rates are determined by the services provided, professional experience, and licenses or certifications held. The position is fee-for-service (FFS), depending on the current caseload, which will be discussed during the interview. This arrangement may vary and is subject to change.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and small-group English as a New Language instruction to students within the school setting on a case-by-case basis.
• Develop engaging, culturally responsive, and differentiated lessons that support students’ English-language development across listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
• Align instruction with students’ English-language proficiency levels, classroom curriculum, and applicable New York State learning and language-development standards.
• Adapt instructional materials and use visual, multisensory, and language-support strategies to make academic content accessible to English Language Learners and Multilingual Learners.
• Assess students’ language skills, monitor their progress, and maintain accurate documentation of services and student outcomes.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, school staff, families, and other professionals to support students’ language development and academic participation.
• Communicate regularly with lead supervisors and members of the school team regarding student progress, instructional needs, and service delivery.
• Maintain accurate attendance and submit required electronic billing and documentation daily.
• Maintain professionalism when communicating and working with students, families, teachers, administrators, and other professionals.
• Participate in student-support meetings, parent meetings, and other school-based team meetings as requested.

And This Background

• Current New York State certification in English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), appropriate for the students and grade levels served
• Minimum of one year of experience providing ENL instruction or supporting English Language Learners and Multilingual Learners preferred
• Knowledge of language-acquisition principles, differentiated instruction, and culturally responsive teaching practices
• Experience working collaboratively with classroom teachers and school-based teams preferred
• Bilingual proficiency is a plus
