Responsibilities: 

As a Educational Consultant, you will:

  • Partner with school administrators, special education teachers, teaching assistants, aides, related service providers, and families to develop and implement individualized, evidence-based educational and behavioral supports.
  • Provide consultation and coaching to Special Education teams, with a focus on strengthening instructional practices, classroom systems, student engagement, independence, and implementation of individualized supports.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify student strengths and needs and develop practical strategies that support academic, behavioral, social, communication, and adaptive skill development.
  • Support Special Education staff in implementing specially designed instruction (SDI), accommodations, modifications, and individualized instructional strategies within classroom and center-based settings.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret student data to monitor progress, evaluate intervention effectiveness, and make data-driven recommendations for instructional and behavioral adjustments.
  • Provide classroom-based consultation, observation, modeling, and performance feedback to support consistent implementation of educational and behavioral strategies.
  • Collaborate with school and center-based teams to support implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and ensure instructional and behavioral programming aligns with student goals.
  • Participate in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, when requested, to provide information regarding student progress, consultation recommendations, and ongoing support needs.
  • Provide consultation and support within designated center-based service locations to promote consistent implementation of BIS, ABA, and Special Education services.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Supervisors, Special Education staff, and other providers to support coordinated service delivery and promote consistency across instructional, behavioral, and clinical programming.
  • Support the development and implementation of individualized service schedules and center-based service models designed to increase student access to educational services.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, modeling, and performance feedback to providers and classroom staff to strengthen implementation of individualized interventions and instructional strategies.
  • Develop and facilitate professional development workshops and staff trainings related to special education, behavior management, data collection, , classroom strategies, student independence, instructional practices, and other identified areas of need.
  • Support staff in developing sustainable classroom and service-delivery systems that promote student independence, engagement, skill acquisition, and generalization across people and settings.
  • Maintain consistent communication with Clinical Supervisors, Clinical Managers, Assistant Directors, Directors, school administrators, and other appropriate team members regarding student progress, consultation needs, staffing considerations, and service delivery.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation, including consultation notes, progress reports, behavioral assessments, data summaries, professional development documentation, and other required service documentation.
  • Contribute to quarterly or periodic program reviews and progress reports by summarizing consultation activities, implementation progress, staff development, student outcomes, and recommendations for continued support.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and protected information in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, and company policies.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, clinical supervision, and collaborative meetings to continuously strengthen educational, behavioral, and consultation practices.
  • Maintain professionalism, ethical standards, and a solution-focused approach in all interactions with students, families, district personnel, providers, and colleagues.
  • Travel between assigned school districts, schools, and designated EBSS/center locations to provide on-site consultation, coaching, observation, professional development, and service support.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

And this background:  

  • NYS Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance
  • Students with Disabilities Certification - All Grades, K-6 or  7-12
  • Master’s degree in Special Education, Education, Educational Leadership, Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or a closely related educational or human services field.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a special education classroom or related educational setting, with experience supporting students with disabilities and their families.
  • Bilingual is a plus
