We are recruiting for an experienced Technical Supervisor: Technical Services with a proven track record of successfully managing maintenance operations within a complex, high-demand environment.\nThe Technical Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily maintenance operations at Fancourt, ensuring that preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, repairs and technical services are delivered efficiently, safely, cost-effectively and in accordance with Fancourt’s 5-star operational standards.\nThe successful candidate will oversee maintenance teams and contractors, ensuring high-quality workmanship, minimising downtime, maintaining asset integrity and supporting an exceptional guest and operational experience.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupervise and coordinate the daily activities of the technical and maintenance team.\nEnsure reactive maintenance requests are attended to within agreed service levels.\nPlan, coordinate and oversee preventative maintenance programmes across buildings, facilities and infrastructure.\nConduct regular inspections and quality-control checks to ensure work meets Fancourt’s 5-star standards.\nSupervise contractors, service providers and technical staff working on site.\nAssist with technical fault-finding, troubleshooting and emergency repairs.\nCoordinate maintenance shutdowns, repairs and projects with operational departments.\nSupport the maintenance and upkeep of guest rooms, public areas and facilities, including “Perfect Room” initiatives.\nEnsure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.\nMaintain appropriate records, technical drawings, asset registers and maintenance documentation.\nMonitor maintenance materials, tools, equipment and stores.\nContribute to energy and water efficiency initiatives and other cost-saving measures.\nAssist with budgeting, Capex planning, asset replacement programmes and major repair and maintenance projects.\nManage contractors and suppliers to agreed standards, specifications, budgets and service levels.\nAssist with tender, pre-contract, site meeting, project monitoring, snagging and handover processes.\nBuild productive relationships with internal departments, contractors, suppliers, service providers and relevant municipal authorities.\nLead, coach and develop maintenance staff, promoting a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.\nProvide operational updates and maintenance reports to management.\nRespond to emergency breakdowns and maintenance requirements outside normal working hours when required.\nTechnical Scope\nThe successful candidate should have practical knowledge and experience across a broad range of facilities and building systems, including:\nHVAC systems\nElectrical reticulation\nPlumbing systems\nPumps and motors\nBuilding maintenance\nFire and safety systems\nHotel and guest-room maintenance\nPreventative maintenance systems\nEnergy and water management\nBulk sewage systems\nStreetlight networks\nGeneral building and infrastructure maintenance\nMinimum RequirementsMatric / Grade 12 with relevant technical subjects.\nTrade qualification or hands on practical experience in an applicable technical field.\nGrade 12/Matric alone, including a technical school Matric, will not be regarded as meeting the trade qualification requirement.\nMinimum 5 years’ relevant maintenance experience, preferably within hospitality, resorts, commercial buildings, property, facilities management or a similarly complex environment.\nMinimum 2 years’ supervisory or team leadership experience within a technical or maintenance environment.\nProven track record of successfully managing maintenance operations, teams and technical services within a complex, multi-faceted environment.\nProven experience in leading and coordinating maintenance teams and technical contractors, with a demonstrated ability to deliver work to required quality, safety and service standards.\nProven experience in implementing and managing preventative maintenance programmes and responding effectively to reactive maintenance requirements.\nExperience managing the maintenance and upkeep of multiple buildings, facilities and associated infrastructure.\nExperience in project coordination and project management, particularly within construction, building, maintenance or facilities environments.\nExperience managing contractors and service providers, including monitoring workmanship, service levels, costs and compliance.\nDemonstrated experience in fault-finding, troubleshooting and coordinating technical repairs.\nPractical knowledge of a broad range of building and technical services, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pumps and motors, fire and safety systems and general building maintenance.\nValid driver’s licence.\nClear criminal record.\nGood working knowledge of MS Office and ERP or maintenance management systems.\nDemonstrated ability to achieve and maintain high standards of service, safety, quality and operational efficiency.\nThe Ideal Candidate\nWe are looking for someone infrastructure.\nThe position requires:\nAvailability to work weekends, public holidays and during peak periods when required.\nAvailability after normal working hours to respond to emergencies and breakdowns.\nWorking outdoors and in varying weather conditions.\nExposure to noise, dust, heat, chemicals and operational plant areas.\nPhysical activity including climbing ladders, lifting and
