This role sits at the intersection of tax, product, and engineering and will play a key role in ensuring tax requirements are effectively translated into and maintained across FanDuel’s customer-facing products.\nThe ideal candidate will operate as a day-to-day advisor to cross-functional teams, translating complex federal, state, and jurisdiction-specific tax laws into clear, actionable guidance. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Tax, Legal, and Finance teams to support the ongoing integration of tax requirements into product functionality and user experience. Your guidance will directly inform product decisions and help shape how FanDuel delivers compliant, scalable customer experiences, while escalating complex or high-risk matters to senior tax leadership.\nIn addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.\nTHE GAME PLAN\nEveryone on our team has a part to play\nProvide product-facing tax counsel to Product and Engineering teams across FanDuel platforms\nTranslate federal, state, and jurisdiction-specific tax laws into actionable product and system requirements\nInterpret applicable tax statutes and regulatory guidance, including gaming taxes and customer tax reporting and withholding requirements\nReview and advise on product features, enhancements, and existing product functionality to identify tax implications and compliance risks\nMonitor changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry standards, and advise stakeholders on relevant impacts\nCollaborate cross-functionally with Tax, Legal, Finance Operations, Compliance, and Customer Support teams to ensure aligned execution\nServe as a key point of contact for tax-related product questions and cross-functional coordination\nEscalate complex, high-risk, or novel tax issues to senior tax leadership with clear analysis and recommendations\nSupport the development and documentation of tax positions and analyses related to product functionality, in partnership with senior tax leadership\nSupport coordination with external stakeholders (e.g., regulators, vendors, and advisors) as needed\nAssist in ongoing product compliance monitoring and issue resolution\nTHE STATS\nWhat we're looking for in our next teammate\nMinimum of 5+ years of experience in tax, legal, regulatory advisory, or a related function\nJuris Doctor (JD), CPA, or equivalent experience in tax advisory, tax compliance, or tax law required\nExperience interpreting and applying federal, state, and jurisdiction-specific tax laws\nExperience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, or technology teams\nProven ability to translate complex tax and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable product or operational guidance\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues for diverse stakeholders\nAbility to exercise sound judgment and operate effectively in ambiguous or fast-paced environments\nStrong stakeholder management and collaboration skills across tax, legal, finance, and product teams\nExperience working in a highly regulated industry (e.g., gaming, fintech, financial services) preferred\nExperience with customer tax reporting and withholding (e.g., Forms W-2G, 1099, 1042) or gaming-related tax frameworks preferred\nInterest in sports betting, gaming, or digital platforms is a plus\nABOUT FANDUEL\nFanDuel Group is the premier mobile gaming company in the United States and Canada. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation.
