Expected working days are from Monday to Friday and within business hours (to be confirmed during the interview).\nPart-time Support Staff employees, as defined by the Part-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement, will be given first consideration.\nNote: This position is located at 1001 Fanshawe College Blvd, London, ON N5Y 5R6.\nWhy This Role Is Important\nReporting to the Program Manager, the regular part-time Academic Officer is responsible for a wide range of administrative duties related to academic planning for the School of Community Studies portfolio including the Community Integration Through Cooperative Education (CICE) program.\nHow You’ll Make an Impact\nResponsible for front-line operations and service delivery, ensuring a high standard of customer service for students, staff, and the public while coordinating administrative processes and resolving complex inquiries\n\nResponsible for planning/initiating/implementing the academic cycle\n\nCompletes, verifies and sets up curriculum clusters by semester and Registers students in CICE and elective courses\n\nWorks with Program Manager and Coordinator on enrollment projections, division of enrollment into classes and scheduling/timetabling of individual/group tutoring times for CICE students and Learning Facilitator\n\nPlans out the use of tutoring space for out-of-class activities\n\nProvides detailed information to scheduling on how courses are to be scheduled\n\nCoordinates the sharing of sections between multiple programs and departments and the submission of timetable parameters\n\nResolves timetable problems with the scheduler and reviews timetables to resolve scheduling conflicts and make suggestion to correct any apparent errors\n\nMaintains efficient office systems and procedures including mail, files, reports, and a reliable record system\n\nResponds to written and telephone inquiries\n\nWorks to achieve optimal allocation of Faculty and Learning Facilitator assignments\n\nAssists Coordinators/Registrar staff with registration process. Manual registration initially and follow through with computerized registration process\n\nWorks through registration issues (course overrides, changes to section maximums, etc.)\n\nTracks Grad Requirements based on year of intake\n\nProduces summary reports from the database and keeps track of meeting minutes and actions\n\nSupports marketing and recruiting activities for the School\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\n2-year Diploma in a related field or equivalent training in Business Office Administration is required\n\nMinimum 3-years’ working in an office environment\n\nAn equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.\n\nExperience with people with unique learning needs is preferred\n\nExperience applying the principles of diversity and inclusiveness to meet the unique needs of students in the CICE program\n\nAbility to support students in problem solving as needed\n\nAdvanced computer skills in Database Management (MS Excel and Google Docs) is required\n\nIntermediate math and budget skills required\n\nKnowledge of the use of educational technologies at the higher education level and experience developing workshops and training materials that are tailored to various learner profiles is preferred\n\nAn equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered\n\nExcellent administrative/organizational and priority setting skills\n\nExcellent interpersonal skills (written and oral)\n\nAbility to work independently as well as in a team environment\n\nDemonstrate initiative, flexibility and planning skills\n\nAbility to multi-task on a daily basis\n\nFanshawe College uses Workday to manage recruitment and hiring processes.\nEducational Credentials\nWhile transcripts are not required for the interview, they are mandatory as a condition of employment.\nEquity, Diversity and Inclusion\nFanshawe College is an equal opportunity employer.
