Finance has kept pace, but the processes underneath were built for a much smaller company, and our first statutory audit is coming. This role exists to build the controls and reporting discipline a business at this scale should already have.\nThe Role\nWe're hiring a Financial Controller to own Fanvue's financial operations and reporting, reporting directly to our VP Finance.\nThis is hands-on. You will own statutory reporting, compliance and management accounting, while strengthening controls, improving reporting accuracy and taking cost out. It suits a qualified accountant with strong technical knowledge under IFRS, commercial instincts, and experience building finance processes that scale rather than inheriting ones that already work.\nYou will have real influence on how the finance function is built, because much of it is still being built.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead the month-end and quarter-end close, delivering timely and accurate reporting\n\nPrepare management accounts, cash flow forecasts and variance analysis\n\nOwn statutory reporting and compliance under IFRS and UK GAAP\n\nManage VAT filings, PAYE submissions and annual HMRC returns\n\nMaintain and optimise Xero and the wider finance stack, including Dext, Pleo and ApprovalMax\n\nSupport annual audits and manage the relationship with external accountants\n\nStrengthen internal controls, financial policies and reporting processes\n\nPartner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting and margin improvement\n\nTake on projects including R&D tax credit claims and system integrations\n\nWho You Are\nQualified accountant, ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA\n\n4 to 6 years post-qualification, ideally from Big Four, a regional practice, or high-growth tech or digital\n\nStrong knowledge of IFRS and UK statutory reporting\n\nProficient in Xero and comfortable with finance automation tools\n\nExperienced with VAT and HMRC compliance\n\nComfortable with consolidations and multi-currency accounting\n\nStrong analytically, precise on detail, and proactive rather than reactive\n\nAt ease in a fast-moving, hands-on environment\n\nNice to have\nExperience in the creator economy, a marketplace, a subscription platform or fintech\n\nExposure to R&D tax credits, multi-entity or multi-currency accounting\n\nYou'll Thrive Here If\nYou want to build the finance function rather than run one someone else designed\n\nYou would rather fix the process than work around it for another quarter\n\nYou like being close to commercial decisions instead of reporting on them afterwards\n\nYou are comfortable being the person who says the number is wrong, and then finding out why\n\nYou'll Struggle Here If\nYou want established processes, a settled close calendar and a team already in place\n\nYou would rather specialise deeply than cover a broad surface\n\nYou need someone senior to define the controls before you can implement them\n\nYou are uncomfortable with a business that changes shape faster than the reporting can keep up\n\nWhy Join Fanvue?\nSunday Times Best Places to Work, two years running.
