JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently seeking Archaeological Technicians for part-time contract employment for upcoming fieldwork in based out of our Davis, California office. This position is part of a temporary staffing pool. Work hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on operational needs, staffing requirements, and available assignments. Technician positions range from $26.50/hour - $30.00/hour (or higher depending on qualifications.)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in anthropology/archaeology (or a related field).
- An accredited field school or commensurate California or Nevada CRM field experience (e.g., survey, precontact and historic-era site identification/documentation/data collection, excavation, and familiarity with standard electronic devices and hand-held tools).
- Detail-oriented, able to adapt to varying data collection needs, attention to field methods/pace, and effective verbal and written communication.
- Willingness to learn/refine new skills on-the-job.
- Ability to collaboratively interact with clients, Native American representatives, and co-workers.
- Can comply with Far Western’s Safety Program and other Far Western training and operations protocols.
- Ability to dispatch out of our Davis, CA. office.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS
- Current First Aid/CPR training/certifications.
- Basic compass, map, GPS navigation skills.
- Experience working outdoors in variable weather conditions and different types of environments.
- Ability to hike up to ten miles a day for up to 10 consecutive days in rugged terrain and variable weather.
- Willingness and ability to camp overnight in remote locations, as needed.
- Has a current driver's license and can operate a 4WD vehicle in varying terrain.

Pay Range: $26.50 - $30.00 per hour
