The Analyst will work closely with other members of the Financial Risk Management team and will interact with various departments across Farmer Mac, including Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting, Enterprise Risk Management, Audit, and Information Technology.\nWhere and When You Will Work\nThe position will be based in Farmer Mac’s headquarters located at 2100 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. Core business hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 p.m. Eastern. Farmer Mac has a Presence with Purpose work environment, which allows for flexibility of work location while providing the opportunity for teams to come together in the office with purpose. Work outside of core hours may be required for planned and unplanned activities to complete time-sensitive projects or to attend off-site meetings or events.\nPrimary Responsibilities and Duties\nSupport the monthly interest rate risk analysis of Farmer Mac's balance sheet and guarantee portfolio using risk measures such as market value of equity (MVE), net effective spread (NES), duration, convexity, key-rate durations, and capital sensitivity metrics.\nAssist with the preparation of recurring market risk reports and analytical packages for senior management, ALCO, and Board-level committees.\nAssist with monthly attribution analyses to identify and explain key drivers of changes in Farmer Mac's market risk profile.\nConduct quantitative analyses to assess the impact of interest rate movements and changing market conditions on Farmer Mac's financial position.\nPerform scenario analysis and stress testing to evaluate market risk exposures under alternative interest rate environments.\nSupport analyses related to hedging strategies, funding decisions, and portfolio rebalancing initiatives.\nAssist in evaluating the impact of new products, transactions, portfolio changes, and strategic initiatives on Farmer Mac's market risk profile.\nPrepare presentations, reports, and supporting materials used for internal risk governance, regulatory examinations, and audit activities.\nResearch industry developments, regulatory expectations, and market risk management best practices, and assist in evaluating their applicability to Farmer Mac.\nIdentify opportunities to improve analytical processes, reporting efficiency, and risk measurement capabilities.\nProvide backup support for regulatory liquidity risk reporting and liquidity stress testing analysis.\nDesired Skills and Qualifications\nStrong understanding of duration, convexity, and cash flow modeling concepts\nFamiliarity with mortgage finance, fixed income mathematics, and financial derivatives\nHigh proficiency in Excel; experience with VBA, SQL, or other programming languages is a plus\nExperience using QRM Enterprise Risk Framework or similar asset/liability management and risk management systems is preferred\nExcellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills\nStrong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail\nDemonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and meet challenging deadlines\nEducation and Experience\n2-5 years of relevant experience in financial services, preferably within Market Risk, Asset Liability Management, Treasury, Capital Markets, Fixed Income Analytics, or Financial Planning & Analysis.\nBachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Data Analytics, or another quantitative discipline required.\nCFA, FRM, CPA or CQF is a plus\nOur compensation philosophy is targeted pay positioning relative to peers, our industry, and external markets.
