In this role, you will lead the Electrical Energy & Utilities team and provide both technical and people leadership for electrical engineering work serving industrial, oil & gas, advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, and related Energy & Utilities projects.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nLead the Electrical Energy & Utilities team and provide direction for project delivery, staff development, technical quality, and client service across multiple simultaneous projects.\nAssume multi-project responsibilities for full electrical design, including power distribution, telecommunications, controls, renewable energy systems, and medium-voltage system design for industrial and oil & gas markets.\nServe as a senior technical resource from project planning through design, construction, startup, and closeout, helping teams deliver practical, high-quality solutions for technically complex facilities.\nDevelop and oversee engineering drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and related technical deliverables, while helping implement project execution plans, project controls, and QA/QC processes.\nGuide project approach, staffing, technical review, and production execution to support scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.\nDirect and support electrical calculations, equipment selections, power systems analyses, and studies such as short circuit, coordination, arc flash, load flow, and related evaluations as required by project needs.\nCoordinate closely with other disciplines, clients, contractors, utilities, and equipment vendors to deliver integrated solutions and maintain strong project communication.\nBuild, maintain, and grow client relationships, while supporting business development, proposal development, project scoping, and technical approach development.\nMentor, supervise, and develop engineers, designers, and drafters, including coaching, performance support, delegation, and technical growth.\nSupport construction-phase services including submittal review, responses to contractor questions, field observations, commissioning support, and resolution of technical issues.\nWhat You’ll Need: \nBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license required.\nTypically, 12-15+ years of experience in technically complex electrical system design.\n5+ years of staff management experience.\nBroad design experience including industrial power distribution, controls, hazardous classified areas, and medium-voltage systems.\nDemonstrated ability to lead electrical design teams and coordinate multi-discipline project delivery.\nStrong ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically, while managing multiple priorities and simultaneous projects.\nAbility to solve complex power engineering problems.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office\nAbility to direct the use of and perform QC review in SKM Power Tools, ETAP, and EasyPower.\nExperience with Microsoft Office, Revit, and AutoCAD.\nWorking knowledge of codes and standards associated with electrical power, including the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, and applicable IEEE and NFPA standards.\nAbility to pass background checks and willingness to comply with client-specific site access requirements, including immunization, that industrial clients may require.\nAbility to complete occasional travel to client sites in support of projects\nNice To Haves: \nNCEES Record holder preferred.\nKnowledge of Navisworks software preferred.\nKnowledge of Revit and AutoCAD\nWho We Are:\nJoin Farnsworth Group, a nationally recognized architectural engineering and surveying firm where your career can thrive!
