Thus, we are building the firm around exceptional talent.\nThe Role\nWe are seeking a Quant Technology Lead to lead the design, architecture, delivery, and continuous evolution of the technology platform powering Fasanara Open Quant.\nReporting directly to the Head of Technology, the successful candidate will be fully dedicated to the Open Quant business, working closely with the Head of Quant Division and the Quant investment team. As the primary technology partner to the business, they will translate investment, portfolio, risk, and operational requirements into scalable production technology.\nThis is a highly hands-on technical leadership role. The successful candidate will design and build core platform capabilities while working directly with portfolio managers, quantitative researchers, traders, risk professionals, operations teams, and engineers.\nThe ideal candidate combines deep software engineering and architecture expertise with a strong understanding of financial markets and investment technology. As Open Quant continues to scale, they will play a central role in defining its technical roadmap and developing the dedicated Quant Technology function.\nResponsibilities\nPlatform Architecture & Engineering\nLead the design, architecture, development, and evolution of the Open Quant technology platform.\nBuild scalable, secure, resilient, cloud-native systems supporting a growing multi-manager quantitative investment business.\nDefine the technical roadmap for core investment, portfolio, risk, data, and operational systems.\nDesign robust APIs, data models, and integration frameworks.\nEstablish strong engineering standards across security, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.\nAct as a hands-on technical lead while helping develop the wider Quant Technology function.\nInvestment, Portfolio & Risk Technology\nDesign and develop institutional-quality investment and portfolio management technology.\nBuild portfolio aggregation, investment analytics, and cross-manager risk monitoring capabilities.\nDevelop portfolio, risk, and analytics capabilities on top of a centralised Position Ledger.\nBuild APIs and data services providing investment, portfolio, and risk information to Portfolio Management, Risk, and Operations.\nEnsure investment data and analytics are accurate, reproducible, and auditable.\nData & Integrations\nLead the development of a central Position Ledger integrating broker positions into a standardised and auditable data model.\nBuild and maintain security master and pricing datasets.\nDesign scalable market, portfolio, reference, and operational data architecture.\nBuild resilient data pipelines supporting quantitative research, portfolio management, analytics, and production monitoring.\nIntegrate market data providers, prime brokers, custodians, fund administrators, and other external systems into the platform.\nAI & Automation\nDrive the practical application of AI across software development and investment workflows.\nIdentify opportunities to automate investment and operational processes while maintaining appropriate controls and auditability.\nEvaluate emerging technologies that can improve platform performance, scalability, and engineering productivity.\nTechnology Leadership & Partnership\nAct as the primary technology partner to the Open Quant business.\nWork closely with portfolio managers and quantitative researchers to translate investment requirements into robust technical solutions.\nPartner with Risk, Operations, and central Technology teams to ensure platform capabilities meet business requirements.\nOwn and drive the Quant Technology roadmap jointly with the Quant and Technology leadership teams.\nRequirements\nEssential\nSignificant software engineering and solution architecture experience, with a track record of building scalable production systems.\nExperience within multi-asset hedge funds, multi-manager hedge funds, large financial institutions, or PMS/RMS technology platforms\nExperience building multi-asset investment platforms supporting multiple portfolio managers or investment teams\nGood knowledge of financial instruments, portfolio construction, and risk management. Strong knowledge in hedge fund operations.\nExperience integrating prime brokers, fund administrators, custodians and market data providers to the portfolio and risk management systems\nExperience building sophisticated investment and risk reports / dashboards.\nStrong practical knowledge of cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, APIs, data platforms, databases, and production infrastructure.\nStrong hands-on software engineering capability alongside architecture and technical leadership experience.\nExperience designing secure and resilient systems where data accuracy, auditability, and operational reliability are critical.\nAbility to translate complex investment and business requirements into scalable technical solutions.\nStrong understanding of data architecture and integration across multiple internal and external data sources.\nExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills.\nEntrepreneurial mindset with a high degree of ownership,
