Head of Finance | International Digital Business | Scale-Up

Location: Madrid (Grand Via area)

Work Model: Hybid - 4 days per week in the office

Reports to: CFO

Salary: €75,000-€85,000 gross/year

Important: We will focus on candidates already based in Madrid, Spain. We may be open to justify relocation if candidates are coming from a multi-country, multi-entity organisation specifically within affiliate marketing or the adult/dating industry.

About Fayara

Four years ago, Fayara was one business. Today, we are a growing international group of five businesses, built through organic growth and acquisitions, with more growth ahead.

That growth changes what we need from our Finance team. We are looking for a Head of Finance who wants to build, own and run the function, not simply manage a set of processes or wait for instructions.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving online digital business, with Finance based in Madrid and entities and teams across multiple countries, including our HQ in Limassol, Cyprus and office in the Netherlands.

The role

You will take end-to-end ownership of Finance across the group. You will know what is happening across the function, get into the detail when needed, improve how things are done and make Finance more efficient, scalable and reliable.

You will report directly to the CFO, but you will not be waiting for the CFO to tell you what needs to be done. We are looking for someone who sees a problem, takes ownership, solves it and builds a better way of working.

You will also be a trusted Finance advisor to the C-level and Board, turning financial information into clear business insight and helping the wider leadership team make better decisions.

What we're looking for

• Significant Finance experience gained in start-ups and scale-up organisations. This is important: we are not looking for someone whose career has been built primarily in traditional, highly structured industries.

• Proven experience in online/digital businesses, particularly high-risk environments such as forex, crypto, gaming, iGaming, adult, eCommerce, or similar industries.

• Understanding of the payments ecosystem, including PSPs, e-wallets, EMIs, payment processing, settlements, reconciliations and working across multiple payment and banking partners.

• Experience working across multiple countries and multiple legal entities.

• A genuinely hands-on approach. You will work alongside the team, not simply delegate everything down to them. The function is not heavily compartmentalised, particularly at the beginning.

• Strong technical Finance knowledge across reporting, consolidation, intercompany, controls and day-to-day Finance operations.

• Proven experience using technology to improve Finance workflows; implementing automation, systems, processes or AI tools that have made the function more efficient, accurate or scalable. We want to see what you have actually built or implemented, not just hear that you are interested in technology.

• The mindset of an owner and business partner, not an instruction-taker. You will be expected to build, challenge, improve and make things happen.

• Fluent English, this is an international role and English is essential.

• Excellent interpersonal skills. You will work closely with senior leaders and need to challenge, influence and advise people at C-level and Board level while handling disagreement constructively.
