# Supervisory Engineering Technician

Summary Serves as first level manager to assigned workforce consisting of engineering technicians and support personnel. Reports to the Group Manager within Engineering Services. Duties Directs the work of subordinate employees for more than one organizational unit level. Work usually includes a mix of routine and complex project/program tasks based on established Technical Operations policies, procedures, and guidelines. Managerial duties include setting priorities, assigning tasks, monitoring and evaluating performance, coaching and developing employee capabilities, approving leave, and taking or recommending corrective/disciplinary action as appropriate. Defines, plans, and organizes assigned budget, staff, and other resources to accomplish project/program objectives. Manages budget and either reallocates resources among organizational units/programs or requests additional resources as needed. Applies an advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of the work directed and an advanced understanding of the objectives of the organizational unit.
