The University is one of the twelve new federal Universities which were established in States where none existed, and shall offer programmes in Arts-based and Science-based disciplines.\n\nThe establishment of the University commenced on 18th February 2013, while it started its first academic year in the 2014/2015 Session. The core academic structure of FUGUS is developed based upon the approved guidelines of the National Universities Commission (NUC) in the Benchmark Minimum Academic Standards (BMAS) documents, as well as other norms from relevant stakeholders, e.g. professional societies.\n\nApplications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:\n\nJob Title: Reader (Cyber Security)\n\nLocation: Gusau, Zamfara\n\nFaculty: Science\n\nRequirements\n\nCandidates must have an adequate research record, including not less than twelve (12) scholarly publications in reputable journals and not less than eight (8) edited conference proceedings, subject to the University's assessment criteria.\nEvidence of postgraduate supervision, academic leadership, mentoring and subject to favourable external assessment.\nCandidates must possess a Ph.D. in the relevant field with at least nine (9) years' University teaching experience, including at least three (3) years as Senior Lecturer, or satisfy the equivalent requirements under the University's approved conditions of service.\n\nHow to Apply\n\nInterested and qualified candidates are required to submit a typed application indicating the position and Department/Faculty applied for. The application should be accompanied by thirty (30) copies of the applicant's Curriculum Vitae and photocopies of relevant certificates and credentials.\n\nThe Curriculum Vitae should contain the following information:\n\nNationality.\nDate and place of birth.\nEvidence of professional/academic honours and distinctions, where applicable.\nDetailed list of publications, clearly distinguishing journal articles, books/chapters, conference proceedings and other scholarly outputs.\nPermanent home address and current contact address.\nPresent employment, rank, grade level/step and salary structure, where applicable.\nRelevant professional registrations/memberships.\nFunctional e-mail address and GSM telephone number.\nState of origin and Local Government Area.\nDetailed employment history, stating positions held, institutions, dates and responsibilities.\nFull Name (in capital letters).\nInstitutions attended with dates.\nAny other relevant information in support of the application.\nNames and addresses of three (3) referees, one of whom must be the applicant's current Head of Department or immediate superior, where applicable.\nAcademic and professional qualifications obtained with dates.\nDetails of administrative experience and community service.\nPost applied for and Department/Faculty.\nDetails of research projects and postgraduate supervision.\nMarital status and number of children, where applicable.\n\nApplications should be enclosed in a sealed envelope clearly marked at the top left corner with the position and Department
