The Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) is a public, conventional, coeducational, research university located in Gusau, Zamfara State, Nigeria. The University is one of the twelve new federal Universities which were established in States where none existed, and shall offer programmes in Arts-based and Science-based disciplines.
The establishment of the University commenced on 18th February 2013, while it started its first academic year in the 2014/2015 Session. The core academic structure of FUGUS is developed based upon the approved guidelines of the National Universities Commission (NUC) in the Benchmark Minimum Academic Standards (BMAS) documents, as well as other norms from relevant stakeholders, e.g. professional societies.

Requirements
- Candidates must have an adequate research record, including not less than twelve (12) scholarly publications in reputable journals and not less than eight (8) edited conference proceedings, subject to the University's assessment criteria.
- Evidence of postgraduate supervision, academic leadership, mentoring and subject to favourable external assessment.
- Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in the relevant field with at least nine (9) years' University teaching experience, including at least three (3) years as Senior Lecturer, or satisfy the equivalent requirements under the University's approved conditions of service.

Interested and qualified candidates are required to submit a typed application indicating the position and Department/Faculty applied for. The application should be accompanied by thirty (30) copies of the applicant's Curriculum Vitae and photocopies of relevant certificates and credentials.
The Curriculum Vitae should contain the following information:

- Relevant professional registrations/memberships.
- Names and addresses of three (3) referees, one of whom must be the applicant's current Head of Department or immediate superior, where applicable.
- Date and place of birth.
- Evidence of professional/academic honours and distinctions, where applicable.
- Detailed list of publications, clearly distinguishing journal articles, books/chapters, conference proceedings and other scholarly outputs.
- Nationality.
- Post applied for and Department/Faculty.
- Academic and professional qualifications obtained with dates.
- Present employment, rank, grade level/step and salary structure, where applicable.
- Details of administrative experience and community service.
- Full Name (in capital letters).

Referees Reports
- Applicants are required to arrange for three (3) referees' reports to be submitted directly by the referees to the Registrar.
