You will be required to work at a FedEx Freight Location several times per week.POSITION OVERVIEW:\nResponsible for managing the general ledger accounting function and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role oversees the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. The Accounting Manager works closely with finance leadership, auditors, and cross-functional teams to maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and SOX requirements. The position also drives process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in GL operations and financial reporting.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nLead and manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are accurate.\nOversee preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and other adjustments to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.\nPerform and review account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, resolving variances promptly.\nEnsure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX, and internal control requirements throughout all GL activities.\nCollaborate with FP&A and other departments to analyze variances and provide insights into financial performance.\nManage Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance initiatives, including documentation of GL processes, identification of control gaps, and remediation efforts.\nSupport internal and external audits by preparing schedules and providing required documentation.
