You will own production applications end to end: the code, the data, the deployment, and the 2 a.m. fix when something breaks. You work directly with the executive who owns our product effort, who writes code and will review yours. You inherit a working portfolio of React and TypeScript applications backed by Python services and PostgreSQL, hosted on serverless cloud infrastructure. The applications serve internal teams and are moving toward customer use. Some integrate with large language model APIs. Several are ready to move from prototype data to live integrations. Harden what exists into production-grade services with monitoring, tests, and clean deployments. Then build the next generation of AI-driven features on top of a compliant foundation.\nFWI is expanding rapidly and has been recognized as a 2024, 2025 and 2026 Top Workplace, offering excellent growth opportunities in a collaborative environment.\nWork Schedule and Location:\nRemote: This full-time remote position will work Monday through Friday.\nResponsibilities\nOwn production web applications from repository to runtime: feature work, bug fixes, releases, and on-call support.\nBuild and extend React and TypeScript front ends and Python back-end services on PostgreSQL.\nReplace prototype data with live integrations to third-party and government data APIs.\nDesign and ship features built on large language model APIs, from retrieval and structured output through agentic workflows.\nStand up the basics that make software trustworthy: automated tests, CI/CD, logging, monitoring, backups, and documented runbooks.\nWrite documentation a non-developer can follow. This is a writing company.\nSit with the people who use the applications, learn how they work, then build what they actually need.\nPrototype fast, measure, and kill what does not work.\nQualifications\nRequired:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.\n3-6 years of professional software development, with at least 2 years supporting applications in production for real users.\nStrong TypeScript and React. Comfortable in Python. Solid SQL and schema design on PostgreSQL.\nExperience deploying and operating cloud applications on at least two major cloud (Azure, AWS, or GCP), including serverless or containerized services.\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure identity (Entra ID, conditional access, role-based access control) or a strong desire to learn it fast.\nHands-on experience building with large language model APIs: prompt design, retrieval, structured output, evaluation.\nGit-based workflow, code review, and automated testing as habits, not aspirations.\nClear written communication.
