This includes the physical handling of products, rotation of stock, inspection of boxes, and operation of material handling equipment.\nCompensation: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour\nPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES\nComplete all assignments in accordance with food safety and handling regulations to ensure the integrity of products through proper inspection, handling, and storage procedures.\nSelect agency orders quickly and accurately.\nPick, stage product and load outbound trucks as required.\nPrepare and audit branch orders for distribution. Verify paperwork associated with all incoming and outgoing transactions.\nEnsure proper inspection, handling, storage, and distribution of all inventories in accordance with USDA, DOH, Safe Food Handling, OSHA, Feeding America (FA), and AIB standards.\nEnsure consistent application of the “first-in first-out” rule as it relates to stocking and distribution of products, ensuring proper storage separation of food and non-food items.\nEnsure proper stacking of all products, stock storage spaces, rearrange and restack products.\nInspect product to determine quality. Accurately record salvageable and unsalvageable inventory. Closely follow guidelines and controls regarding the Salvage Operation to help ensure its integrity.\nContinuously check inventory for expiration dates, any signs of contamination, or other signsof unsafe distribution.\n\nUse material handling equipment and maintain equipment charging areas.\nParticipate in the implementation of Safety Guidelines and Standards.\nConsistently emphasize and practice the organization's mission and values.\nAssist management with additional tasks as necessary.\nRequirements\nPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent.\nMinimum of 3 years of warehouse experience, food bank/food industry experience preferred.\nSkilled in operating and maintenance of warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, forklifts, coolers, freezers, electronic scales, etc.\nAbility to work in a freezer/cooler environment.\nBasic Math, Reading, and Writing Skills in the English language.\nAbility to effectively organize and prioritize tasks.\nCapable of following directions and communicating effectively.\nStrong work ethic with the tenacity to work under pressure.\nCapable of completing various assignments responsibly and in a timely manner.\nUnwavering commitment to quality and excellence in organizational and project management with the ability to achieve strategic objectives and manage a budget.\nIntegrity, positive attitude, mission-driven and self-directed with a demonstrated passion for FSF’s mission and commitment to working collaboratively with a management team of senior professionals.\nStrong analytical skills; basic business intuition and common sense.\nForklift Certification is preferred, and knowledge of Material Handling Equipment.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS\nHours of Operation: Although organization hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This position schedule is overnight from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and may work closer to 45-50 hours per week, especially during peak times such as holiday seasons, growing seasons, and disaster response. After-hours business work is required occasionally throughout the year. Frequent after-hours work is required relating to special events (nights and weekends).\nEnvironment: Involves activities in both office and warehouse environments with exposure to the climate and South Florida weather. There are extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, and bending, listening, talking, and/or visual concentration.
