Our interns take on similar tasks and responsibilities as entry-level staff.\nResponsibilities\nAnalyze/solve complex transportation planning or engineering problems \nCommunicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, including in a community engagement setting \nUse software effectively and make timely and informed recommendations \nWork on a variety of projects which may include traffic operations simulations, bicycle and pedestrian plans, freight and goods movement planning, traffic impact studies, travel demand modeling, transit planning, and regional transportation plans \nEmbrace opportunities to learn and adopt new tools, technologies, and ways of working that enhance day-to-day work, while maintaining professional judgment, critical thinking, and accountability for results\nQualifications (We encourage all applicants to apply, even if you don't meet all of the qualifications listed below)\nStrong interest or knowledge of transportation planning/engineering principles and practices \nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal relationship skills, and presentation skills \nA passion for partnering with and serving the local communities \nCompletion or current enrollment in a bachelor’s (junior or senior standing) or master’s degree program.
