We value meaningful interactions, teamwork, and a person-centered approach to care that promotes dignity, respect, and quality of life.\nPosition Summary\nThe Dietary Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the Dining Department, ensuring high-quality meal service, food safety, regulatory compliance, and excellent customer service. This position provides leadership to dining staff while maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment and supporting the nutritional needs and preferences of our residents.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupervise the daily operations of the Dining Department.\nSchedule, coordinate, and monitor department staffing.\nPlan, implement, evaluate, and improve dining services and operations.\nCollaborate with leadership and other departments to provide exceptional resident care.\nMonitor food quality, sanitation, infection control, and kitchen safety standards.\nDevelop menus that incorporate resident preferences, variety (seasonal), and nutritional needs.\nReview and process prescribed diets and dietary changes in collaboration with Health Services.\nTrain and mentor dining staff on food preparation, sanitation, equipment use, and nutrition standards.\nConduct resident interviews to assess dining satisfaction and preferences.\nEnsure menus and required documentation are maintained according to policies and regulations.\nOversee meal planning and preparation for holidays, special events, and celebrations.\nConduct daily rounds to ensure staff are following procedures and safety standards.\nMaintain clean, organized, and sanitary food preparation, storage, and dining areas.\nPurchase food, supplies, and equipment as needed.\nBalance supervisory responsibilities with hands-on food production and assist as a Cook or Dining Assistant when needed.\nParticipate in the Convent Food Committee and attend required meetings and training.\nCollaborate with Catholic Health LIFE Program to assist in providing lunch meal service to the day center Monday-Friday.\nCollaborate with Human Resources regarding staffing and personnel matters.\nSupport a person-directed culture that encourages resident choice, engagement, and dignity.\nMinimal travel required (approx. twice per year) \nFlexibility with schedule and ability to work overtime to meet the needs of the department and/or special functions.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nEducation\nAS/BS Culinary Arts, Food Service Management, Hospitality preferred\nServSafe® or comparable food safety certification preferred.\nExperience\nMinimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience in food service required.\nMinimum of three (3) years of cook/food preparation experience required.\nExperience in an institutional, senior living, long-term care, or healthcare food service setting strongly preferred.\nKnowledge of traditional Polish cuisine preferred.\nFamiliarity with Roman Catholic Dietary customs preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nKnowledge of nutrition, therapeutic diets, food safety, sanitation, and infection control practices.\nStrong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to supervise and motivate a team while fostering a positive work environment.\nAbility to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced setting.\nCommitment to providing exceptional customer service and resident-centered care.\nWhy Join Us?\nOur mission is rooted in serving others with compassion, dignity, and respect.
