Because Félix is a regulated fintech, Legal is part of every major decision! You'll be brought in early and work with our VPs and C-suite on the company's most important commercial deals, from structuring and negotiation strategy through signing, so your advice will directly shape how we build and grow.\nAs we expand from remittances into credit, yield, and wallet products, you'll own our commercial contracting and lead on Latin American legal matters. It's a senior, independent role, and the impact goes beyond the deals themselves: you'll use top-tier legal skills to serve the Latino community, helping build financial products for people the traditional system has overlooked.\nResponsibilities\nLead negotiation and drafting of commercial agreements across our fintech stack. That includes payout partners across Latin America, liquidity providers, payment and card networks, stablecoin issuers and crypto infrastructure providers, yield providers, and banking-as-a-service platforms.\nNegotiate technology agreements: master services agreements, API and platform integrations, and data-sharing arrangements. You'll turn what business needs from a partner into enforceable contract terms, including consumer data protection.\nBring commercial contract review in-house. You'll review complex agreements independently and reduce our reliance on outside counsel.\nOwn Latin American legal matters: employment and contractor arrangements for our teams across the region, FX and marketing rules, and the regulations that govern how we operate in each market. \nBuild our contract review playbooks and run them on AI-powered legal tech, so Legal can scale efficiently.\nHandle the range of legal questions that come up in a fast-moving business. This is a generalist role in a legal function that is still being built, and the work won't stay inside the commercial lane.\nHelp build the processes and templates a growing legal department runs on.\nAreas of law you'll encounter\nThe commercial work sits at the intersection of several regulated areas. You will not be the subject-matter expert in all of them, but you should be able to spot the issues, engage credibly with specialists, and know when a deal point carries regulatory consequences:\nFinancial services and technology commercial contracting\nData privacy\nMoney transmission\nSecurities\nIntellectual property\nConsumer lending\nLatin American law - employment, regulatory, commercial\nRequirements\nUS-qualified attorney, admitted and in good standing, and allowed to practice in the state where you live.\nStrong academic credentials. A JD or LLM from a leading US law school is preferred.\nQualified to practice in at least one Latin American country, with experience coordinating legal work across several countries in the region.\n7+ years of legal experience. Ideally, that's several years at a top-tier international law firm (US or Latin American office) followed by at least two years in-house doing commercial work at a fintech, bank, or financial services company.\nHands-on experience with technology deals: MSAs, API integrations, data privacy, and the contracting involved in launching a new technology partner.\nComfort with the financial side: you understand FX rates, liquidity providers, credit, and yield products, payment rails, and how a deal term affects pricing and the customer experience.\nProven ability to run complex commercial negotiations independently and reach commercially sound outcomes.\nExperience building contract review playbooks and using AI or legal tech to automate or speed up review.\nReal curiosity about the business. You can explain what makes a product work and why it wins, not just what its contracts say.\nSpanish fluency, both conversational and legal.
