In this role, you will be responsible for building scalable, cloud-native services that process infrastructure, backup, and asset telemetry data streams and deliver valuable insights to our customers. Your focus will be primarily backend, with opportunities to work across the full stack. Our team operates with the speed and ownership of a startup, backed by the stability of an established company.\nOur team has fully embraced AI-assisted, agentic development, guided by a core principle: agentic workflows scale execution, but they don’t always scale judgment. That judgment is what our engineers bring. We spend less time writing code by hand and more time understanding the problem, directing AI tools, and making sure what they produce is right, so we can move fast and in the right direction.\nAs a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the delivery of significant features from requirements through release, take long-term ownership of key areas of the platform, and help raise the bar for engineering practices across the team.\nKey Responsibilities\nTake end-to-end ownership of software delivery: partner with product to define requirements and success criteria, break work into iterative deliverables, and coordinate contributions from other engineers through release\n\nDesign, implement, and optimize scalable services and data pipelines on Azure that turn resiliency-relevant data from backup, hypervisor, EDR, and cloud sources into actionable insights\n\nBuild reliable integrations with third-party APIs, including handling authentication, rate limits, pagination, and changes in upstream data formats\n\nUse agentic coding tools as a core part of your daily workflow, providing clear context and direction and critically evaluating generated code for sound architecture, design, and logic\n\nServe as a long-term owner of key platform components, ensuring their ongoing health, reliability, and maintainability through robust monitoring, logging, and proactive improvement\n\nContribute to planning with a view beyond the immediate task, identifying risks, dependencies, and technical unknowns early\n\nFoster a culture of learning and improvement by mentoring other engineers, providing feedback, and actively participating in retrospectives to help the team continuously improve how it plans, communicates, and delivers\n\nCollaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teammates to ensure requirements are met and features are delivered on time\n\nOther duties as required\n\nQualifications, Requirements & Preferred Skills\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, is preferred\n\n5+ years of professional software development experience in Python or a statically typed language such as C#, Java, C++, or Rust. Working knowledge of Python is required\n\nSolid grounding in system design, with experience designing and building services, APIs, and data pipelines in a cloud environment, including microservices and distributed systems\n\nHands-on experience using AI coding agents to build and ship software, with a clear understanding of how to guide them effectively and evaluate their output\n\nProven experience leading the delivery of features or projects involving multiple engineers, from requirements definition through release\n\nExperience working on agile teams, delivering iteratively, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement\n\nExperience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, and deploying code\n\nStrong understanding of security best practices, especially as they relate to data protection, authentication, and secure coding principles\n\nAbility to work effectively on a fully remote team\n\nHands-on experience with our technology stack, particularly Azure and our data platforms:\nBackend: Python, Rust\n\nFrontend: TypeScript, Vue.js\n\nCloud: Microsoft Azure (Function Apps, containers, and supporting Azure services)\n\nData: Databricks, Delta Tables, PostgreSQL, Azure Cosmos DB\n\nInfrastructure and Delivery: Bicep, Azure Pipelines, Azure DevOps\n\nAI Tooling: Anthropic Claude\n\nIndustry experience in cybersecurity or familiarity with common security practices and frameworks\n\nExperience across multiple languages and technology stacks and interest in working across both backend and frontend\n\nBackground working on an early-stage or fast-moving software product\n\nExcellent analytical, organization, and problem-solving skills\n\nDemonstrated strong written and oral communication skills, including strong relationship building skills and leadership capabilities\n\nAbility to form relationships across all levels of the company while modeling Fenix24’s Culture and Values\n\nSalary: $170,000 -
