This position will be responsible for leading all aspects of safety at the Distribution Center. With 11 strategically located regional distribution centers and a growing network of 6+ market distribution centers throughout the US, this position offers incredible advancement opportunities! Together, we can continue to lead the industry and help build our nation’s infrastructure from the ground up.\nResponsibilities:\nTrain new associates in the organization's safe operating procedures and safety standards\nAdminister safety training and health and safety programs\nMonitor environment to ensure that work areas, tools and equipment meet safety requirements\nEnsure associates operate powered industrial equipment according to Safe Operating Guidelines and FEI Safety Policies\nDocument all safety incidents and assist with accident investigations, following established reporting and recording requirements\nCoordinate and lead Safety Committee meetings, publish agendas, email invitations and committee minutes\nCompile data on location incidents rates, restricted duty and lost time per SOP\nOversee injured worker treatment plans, restricted duty and lost time claims\nCommunicate with worker’s comp carrier as needed to ensure cases are handled to completion\nAlign and routinely interact with Region Territory Safety Manager to ensure alignment.\nAdminister and / or support the administration of the 30-60-90 day Health & Safety Onboarding Program\nExecutes safety inspections, audits and safety risk assessments, ensuring OSHA compliance, whilst maintaining all HSE records and reporting.\nAssists with the identification of the sources of risks and hazards, implementing exposure monitoring, integrity controls, and safety systems required to mitigate specific safety risks in operations.\nCoordinates safety training in order to equip staff with knowledge of safe operating procedures and safety standards.\nSupports the field application of safety behavior improvement and HSE culture tools.\nSupports safety meetings and/or field visits, including pre-job safety conferences or Health & Safety Committee meetings.\nAdhere to Company compliance and Health Safety and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and requirements\nRegular and reliable attendance\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree or minimum of 3 years of safety specific experience\nPreferred experience in a warehouse supply chain distribution environment.\nCandidate must be willing to work varied shifts depending on the safety needs of the location. Position will include spending time on night shift as well as rare weekends if needed.\nAbility to create and train using Job Safety Analysis (JSA)\nPossess hazard recognition skills to identify risk and to implement corrective action plans\nAbility to tactfully coach, mentor and correct unsafe behavior in real time\nAble to lift 50 lbs occasionally and work in a warehouse environment subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations, including heat and cold based on outdoor weather conditions\nCertification in OSHA safety procedures preferred\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills\nExceptional presentation and written skills\nInterpersonal and communication skills; ability to professionally and confidently interact with individuals at all levels of the organization\nProvide strong leadership to drive a culture of safety\nSelf-starter requiring minimal supervision\nAt Ferguson, we care for each other.
