You will build a career that you are proud of, at a company you can believe in.\nFerguson is seeking an experienced Distribution Center Department Manager for our distribution center in Coxsackie, NY, to lead warehouse operations within one of our core distribution center functions, including Receiving, Inventory Control, Replenishment, Order Fulfillment, Picking, Shipping, or other operational departments.\nThis leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence through a people-first approach focused on safety, service, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement. The Department Manager will lead a team of supervisors and hourly associates while collaborating with cross-functional partners to ensure efficient warehouse operations that support Ferguson's commitment to exceptional customer service.\nThe ideal candidate is a strong leader who enjoys developing talent, using data to improve performance, and creating an engaging, safe, and high-performing work environment.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead Warehouse Operations\nLead daily operations within an assigned warehouse department, ensuring productivity, quality, service, and safety objectives are achieved\nDirect the efficient flow of inventory, materials, and customer orders throughout the distribution center\nMonitor operational performance and implement solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and throughput\nEnsure compliance with standard operating procedures, inventory controls, and company policies\nSupport labor planning and staffing strategies to meet changing business demands\nCoordinate effectively with other departments and shifts to ensure seamless execution across the facility\nDrive operational readiness during peak periods, seasonal volume fluctuations, and special business initiatives\nDevelop and Lead High-Performing Teams\nIn partnership with HR you will recruit, onboard, coach, and develop supervisors and hourly associates\nEstablish clear performance expectations while providing regular feedback and recognition\nBuild an inclusive, accountable, and highly engaged team culture\nConduct performance reviews, talent assessments, and development planning discussions\nIdentify high-potential talent and support succession planning initiatives\nFoster open communication and maintain strong associate relations throughout the department\nChampion Safety and Compliance\nPromote a culture where safety is the first priority in every operation\nEnsure compliance with OSHA regulations, company standards, and facility safety procedures\nConduct safety observations, audits, and investigations as needed\nLead corrective and preventive action plans to reduce risk and improve workplace safety\nMaintain housekeeping and operational standards that support a clean, organized, and safe work environment\nBuild Cross-Functional Partnerships\nPartner with transportation, inventory, customer service, maintenance, and distribution center leadership teams to achieve operational goals\nResolve operational issues impacting workflow, inventory accuracy, customer commitments, or associate productivity\nCommunicate department priorities, performance expectations, and operational updates to key partners\nSupport the execution of strategic business initiatives within the distribution center\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\n5+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain operations\n3+ years of leadership experience managing warehouse associates, team leads, and/or supervisors\nExperience leading operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment\nDemonstrated ability to drive performance through coaching, development, and accountability\nWorking knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Labor Management Systems (LMS)\nStrong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and productivity measurement\nKnowledge of OSHA regulations and warehouse safety standards\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills\nExcellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications and operational reporting tools\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field\nExperience leading multiple warehouse functions including receiving, inventory control, replenishment, order fulfillment, picking, and shipping operations\nExperience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies\nMulti-shift leadership experience within a large-scale distribution center environment\nExperience with labor planning, workforce management, and goal-based operations\nWhy Ferguson?\nAt Ferguson, we care for each other.
