In this role, you will provide support to the customer’s site by purchasing products to ensure inventory service level goals are met. Core responsibilities include ordering inventory materials needed to stock the site, focusing on vendor-direct products. Prior buyer or purchasing experience is preferred. If you have excellent customer service skills, strong critical thinking skills and experience juggling multiple requests while still meeting urgent deadlines, this is a great opportunity to grow!\nJob Details\nReports to the Regional Operations Manager\nResponsibilities\nWork on site at the customer’s facility\nCompile and maintain information and records to prepare purchase orders\nContact vendors and suppliers for quotations and maintain key relationships\nManage file maintenance for products bought from the vendor, including pricing\nManage system settings governing buy quantities to achieve company goals for inventory and service levels\nWork closely with customer to ensure purchasing related questions/issues are addressed\nProvide direction and mentorship to less experienced team members\nPerform all work in accordance with established safety standards and policies, ensuring the safety of the associate and others\nDisplay high levels of customer service working with internal customers\nQualifications\nBachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience, preferred\n3+ years of purchasing or buying experience, especially supporting a region or multiple stores, preferred\nAbility to adapt and change processes to keep pace with the evolving business requirements\nOutstanding interpersonal and leadership skills to efficiently respond to urgent situations\nMust be process oriented with good judgment and decision-making abilities\nStrong technical skills included but not limited to Microsoft O365 applications\nStrong interpersonal & customer service skills and a team-centric mentality\nAbility to be adaptable and multitasking skills needed, including the ability to prioritize multiple, urgent requests\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate across all levels of the organization\nAt Ferguson, we care for each other.
