virtual, and cloud environments.\nPerformance Tuning: Proactively monitor system health, tune SQL queries, optimise indexes, and manage database configurations to prevent performance degradation.\nSecurity and Compliance: Implement robust security measures, manage user permissions, apply patches, and ensure compliance with data governance policies.\nBackup and Recovery: Establish and test comprehensive backup strategies to guarantee rapid recovery from system failures or data corruption.\n\nRequirements: \nDatabase Engines: Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database architecture.\nLanguages: Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL (SQL Server), and PL/SQL (Oracle) for scripting and automation.\nInfrastructure: Understanding of underlying operating systems (Windows Server, Linux/Unix), networking, and storage technologies like ASM (Automatic Storage Management).\nTools: Experience with management consoles like SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) and OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager)\n\nQualifications: \nEducation: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related STEM field.\nProfessional Experience: Typically 5+ years of hands-on DBA experience in enterprise-level, 24/7 production environments.\nCertifications: Preferred certifications include Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or relevant Microsoft SQL Server credentials.\nSoft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving, excellent communication for cross-team collaboration, capable of balancing multiple priorities effectively and the ability to handle on-call support
