Depending on the area of assignment, fabricates, sets up, calibrates, operates, tests, repairs, and modifies a variety of electrical-electronic and/or mechanical equipment, systems and devices, or performs ES&H duties including environmental surveys, waste disposal, and radiological surveys.\nWhat your day-to-day as an Electronics Technician I at Fermilab will look like:\nYou will conduct routine fabrication, set-up, operation, testing, repairs, and/or modifications for \nWork on laboratory projects/equipment in the assigned area, based on drawings, diagrams and schematics. \nYou will assist in construction and assembly of experiment and support equipment. Prepare equipment for operation. Assist in testing and calibration of equipment.\nWriting procedures for all finished work. Enter relevant work information into a database and/or personal logbook. \nAs directed, provide preventive and routine maintenance for a wide variety of instruments and equipment in the assigned area. Troubleshoot problems and conducts repairs as needed. \nConduct periodic safety inspections of assigned area, including generation of hazard analyses. Assists with the identification, packaging, control, and disposal of chemical and radioactive waste.\nYou will respond to operational and emergency requirements. Required to work off-hour shifts or respond to emergency call-ins.\nYou will procure and maintains inventories of small parts, supplies, materials, and equipment. \nYou will assist in the implementation and design of equipment and systems for area of assignment, driving quality in all job aspects. \nYou will perform other duties as assigned.\nYou will abide by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, Laboratory policies, procedures and practices pertinent to this position. \n Skills and Attributes for Success:\nHS degree (or technical certificate or equivalent).
