The Undergraduate Research Assistant position is composed of college and university students enrolled in a program specializing in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM), or Computing and Accelerator Science curriculum that \nEmployee Status: Can be fixed term or on-call based on the term of the assistantship:\nFixed term: Assistantship is 6 months, limited to 20-40 hours/week.\nOn-Call: Assistantship is Note: Only fixed term employees with a minimum of 20 hours worked per week are eligible for vacation and benefits. \nDuties and Responsibilities:\nWorks along-side staff specializing in scientific, technology, engineering, math, or computing and accelerator science to provide technical assistance on project-based tasks and/or research. \nInvestigates, defines, and proposes solutions to assigned technical and scientific problems. \nActivities include but are not limited to assistance with data analysis, assembly prototypes, calibration code and catalogs, test set-up and monitoring, general contribution to operation of facilities, and application of modeling and simulation tools.\nPerforms other duties as assigned by supervisor.\nAbides by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.\nMinimum Required Education and Experience:\nMust be enrolled in an accredited university or college as an undergraduate student and hold some research or technical experience.\n Applicable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:\nPossesses and applies the skills required to perform the technical tasks (will vary by assignment).\nWork Arrangement:\nPlease note that the described work arrangement is subject to change based on business needs and is not guaranteed to be final.\nOnsite: This is an onsite role, and the candidate must be able to work from our Batavia office.\nWhy Fermilab:\nFermilab is America’s premier laboratory for particle physics and accelerator research, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy.
