Within FFDG, the Finance Division provides safe, efficient, effective financial operations in support of the Laboratory's high-energy physics program in accordance with all laws, regulations, and DOE requirements. Within the section, the Procurement Department is responsible for acquiring goods and services for the entire Laboratory. It provides helpful, professional support for all procurement requirements from the development of initial plans and requirements to subcontract closeout.\nUnder general direction, the Procurement Manager I will lead one or more teams of subcontracting and procurement professionals within the Procurement organization. This position provides procurement liaison support for FFDG projects, ensuring effective management of acquisition planning, solicitation, negotiation, award, and subcontract administration for routine to highly complex and high-value contractual arrangements. Responsibilities include close collaboration with internal customers, FFDG project teams, support personnel, subcontractors, and the DOE, all while ensuring compliance with established procurement policies, contract law, commercial practices, and federal procurement regulations.\nWhat your day-to-day as a Procurement Manager I at Fermilab will look like:\nPlans and develops subcontracting requirements; provides guidance and recommendations to Project Managers, project team members, senior Laboratory Managers, and other Laboratory customers, and guide Procurement team members throughout this process. \nCommunicates the Laboratory mission, Procurement goals, specific project acquisition objectives, and supports implementation through the execution of processes that guide the long term and day-to-day operation of FFDG Procurement. \nCommunicates essential information between Procurement leadership, project managers and the Procurement staff, in a timely and effective manner.\nParticipates in project meetings such as those with Project Management, and other project related groups.
