This position is based at our Somerset, NJ location and reports directly to the Production Manager/Shift Supervisor.\nThe primary responsibility of the Assistant Production Supervisor is to support the execution of daily production operations within a designated production area. This role ensures adherence to safety and quality standards, and assists in driving operational efficiency in a fast-paced co-packing environment.\nThis is a non-exempt position and may require schedule flexibility based on business needs. The expected hours for this role are 3:30pm-12:30am.\nMain Responsibilities:\nSupport the Production Supervisor in executing daily production schedules and meeting customer requirements.\nProvide direction to line leads within assigned production areas.\nAssist in supervising production operations to ensure compliance with product specifications, GMPs, sanitation procedures, and food safety requirements.\nCoordinate and support product changeovers to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.\nHelp determine labor allocations and staffing requirements to support production objectives.\nCreate and manage associate break schedules while maintaining operational coverage.\nMonitor line performance, identify operational issues, and escalate concerns when needed.\nWork with Material Handlers, Warehouse personnel, and Planning teams to ensure timely availability of bulk materials and packaging components.\nMaintain clean, organized, and safe work areas while promoting an injury-free workplace.\nEnsure compliance with OSHA regulations, PPE requirements, and company safety policies.\nMonitor product quality and support efforts to reduce waste, scrap, and rework.\nAssist with employee training and onboarding to ensure standard work practices are followed.\nAssists in managing 100+ associates\nCommunicate production priorities, performance metrics, and operational issues during shift meetings and handoffs.\nPartner closely with Maintenance, Sanitation, Quality, Warehousing, and Production Management to resolve operational challenges.\nServe as the primary escalation point for line leaders and production associates within the assigned area.\nWorks with Temp Agency on-site supervisor on related issues when needed.\nAssist with documentation and recordkeeping to support traceability, quality compliance, and audit readiness.\nAbout You:\nEducation\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\nExperience\n3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, food production, or co-packing operations.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nKnowledge of production operations, manufacturing processes, and production equipment.\nUnderstanding of GMPs, food safety, sanitation, and quality systems.\nExperience supporting production scheduling and labor coordination.\nStrong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.\nAbility to troubleshoot operational issues and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong organizational and time-management skills.\nAbility to effectively work in a diverse, multicultural workforce.\nExperience working with SAP/ECC or other ERP systems preferred.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint).\nAbility to work with minimal supervision and adapt to changing business priorities.\nLifting up to 50lbs., bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, standing for extended periods, frequently repeated manual tasks.\nArtificial Intelligence Disclosure\nAs part of our recruitment process, Ferrero may use artificial intelligence (AI) enabled tools to assist with reviewing candidate applications. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
