This position reports to the Accounting & Reporting Manager and is located in Austin, Texas within Ferrovial Corporate.\nThe Accountant will perform balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting reviews, lease accounting activities, journal entry preparation, fixed asset accounting, and support internal and external reporting requirements. The role will also participate in financial process automation initiatives and continuous improvement projects within the Accounting & Reporting function.\nResponsibilities\nGeneral Accounting & Month-End Close\nExecute monthly depreciation processes and maintain fixed asset accounting records.\n\nPrepare and record journal entries as required during month-end and quarter-end close activities.\n\nPerform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.\n\nAnalyze accounting balances and support the resolution of accounting discrepancies.\n\nEnsure accounting records comply with US GAAP and Company policies.\n\nSupport the preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages.\n\nIntercompany Accounting\nPerform intercompany reconciliation reviews across multiple legal entities.\n\nInvestigate and resolve intercompany differences.\n\nSupport group-level intercompany reconciliation processes.\n\nMonitor and validate intercompany balances prior to reporting deadlines.\n\nLease Accounting\nMaintain lease accounting schedules including new leases, modifications, renewals, and terminations.\n\nPrepare and review ASC 842 accounting calculations and journal entries.\n\nMonitor lease accounting data between accounting systems and lease management platforms.\n\nSupport quarterly lease reporting requirements and provide documentation for audits.\n\nFinancial Reporting & Automation\nSupport the Financial Statements process and related reporting activities.\n\nParticipate in balance sheet reconciliation automation initiatives.\n\nAssist in identifying process improvement opportunities and automation enhancements.\n\nSupport testing, validation, and implementation of new accounting tools and reporting processes.\n\nAudit, Tax & Compliance Support\nPrepare documentation and schedules requested by internal and external auditors.\n\nRespond to Tax department requests including compliance reporting, franchise fee support, and other tax-related requirements.\n\nMaintain adequate supporting documentation for all accounting transactions.\n\nAssist in ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.\n\nAd Hoc Activities\nSupport special projects and management requests.\n\nAssist with accounting research and analysis as needed.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and reporting quality.\n\nProvide support during annual audits, quarterly reviews, and regulatory reporting activities.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Accounting\n\n3-5 years of accounting experience in public accounting and/or corporate accounting environments.\n\nExperience performing month-end close activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations.\n\nSolid understanding of US GAAP and IFRS a plus\n\nExperience supporting external audits and financial reporting processes.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with SAP or similar ERP systems.\n\nExperience with lease accounting under ASC 842 and IFRS16.\n\nExperience supporting multi-entity and intercompany accounting.\n\nExperience with process automation and continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nPublic accounting experience and/or CPA certification is considered a plus.\n\nSkills\nStrong accounting and financial reporting knowledge.\n\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, Copilot, AI a plus.\n\nAttention to detail and commitment to accuracy.\n\nStrong analytical and reconciliation skills.\n\nAbility to identify and resolve accounting issues independently.\n\nExperience working with large data sets and multiple legal entities.\n\nStrong organizational and time management skills.\n\nAbility to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.\n\nEffective communication and collaboration skills.\n\nContinuous improvement mindset with interest in automation and process optimization.\n\nSeize the challenge.
