Support coordination of design quality with the D&C Contractor, the design and QA firms, the Developer and the DOT, under the direction of the Design Quality Manager and in support of the contractual design quality roles.\nJob Duties\nAssist the Design Quality Manager in the development, implementation and maintenance of the DQMP and provide support for quality-related input to other project plans and procedures.\nAssist with confirming that design quality procedures and review standards are established, implemented and maintained; support implementation of the approved DQMP in the performance of the Work and help maintain updates when it is updated as needed or as required by the contract.\nSupport the Design Quality Manager in confirming training and workshops are provided to all personnel involved in or affected by the DQMP.\nMonitor and document whether design quality reviews are performed by qualified staff independent from production, with auditable records.\nTrack design quality reviews to make sure they finish before each scheduled submittal and promptly elevate potential delays to the Design Quality Manager.\nAssist in verifying that design submittals (reports, preliminary/final/RFC documents, Shop Drawings, FDCs, NDCs, Record Design Documents) meet the DQMP and Contract Documents, with certificates in place.\nTrack DOT, Developer and QA comments to closure, including disputed ones; assist with cross-discipline, constructability and maintainability reviews.\nSupport coordination with D&C design management, technical office, construction and document control on drawings and revisions; help track incorporation of RFIs and design changes into Record Drawings.\nAssist the Design Quality Manager in coordination with the Developer's quality team, the DOT (design and over-the-shoulder reviews, audits, meetings) and the independent quality firm, where engaged.\nAssist with design NCRs, corrective/preventive actions, and internal and Developer/DOT design audits to close-out.\nSupport preparation of monthly design quality reports, metrics and the QMS Review Report; maintain design quality records.\nPerform design quality tracking, recordkeeping, document reviews and other assignments under the direction of the Design Quality Manager.\nWork across disciplines on needs and process improvements; any other reasonable request by management.\nJob Requirements:\nBachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Science or equivalent required.\nEIT certification preferred. Candidates pursuing professional licensure will also be considered.\n3+ years in a related role, transportation design or heavy civil; DB/P3 design or design quality experience preferred.\nASQ certification and familiarity with ISO 9001 concepts valuable.\nProficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Bluebeam Revu, databases and document control systems (e.g., Procore).\nKnowledge of state DOT specifications, standards and design review procedures valuable.\nExcellent communication and coordination skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.\nAbility to work under the direction of the Design Quality Manager, manage detailed follow-up items and escalate issues when needed.\nCareer Development:\nThis role offers broad exposure to all design disciplines and a strong foundation in design-build delivery, with the opportunity for continued development within design quality or the D&C design team, subject to performance and business needs.\nThe statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and levels of work performed by employees, but are not a complete list of responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.
