The selected candidate will develop hydrologic, hydraulic, and drainage designs for a major transportation infrastructure project while working within a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include performing drainage analyses and hydraulic modeling, preparing plans and technical documentation, supporting design optimizations, and coordinating drainage solutions with project stakeholders and other design disciplines.\nWe are seeking candidates with 5-10 years of relevant experience who demonstrate strong technical knowledge of transportation drainage, the ability to independently deliver engineering assignments, and the communication and coordination skills required to support a complex Design-Build project.\nResponsibilities and Duties:\nDevelop hydrologic, hydraulic, and drainage analyses, calculations, models, reports, plans, specifications, and supporting technical documentation.\nDesign highway drainage systems, including storm sewer networks, culverts, channels, detention facilities, outfalls, and stormwater management measures.\nEvaluate flooding conditions, drainage impacts, design alternatives, and opportunities for practical design optimization.\nReview drainage calculations, models, plans, quantities, and technical deliverables prepared by consultants, subconsultants, and junior engineers.\nCoordinate drainage designs with roadway, structural, geotechnical, environmental, utility, and construction disciplines.\nProvide technical guidance to EITs, designers, and CAD staff while supporting quality-control reviews and compliance with project requirements.\nPrepare quantity estimates and support constructability, cost, and procurement evaluations related to drainage design.\nTrack assigned drainage activities and support the timely delivery of design packages and project submittals.\nParticipate in coordination meetings, site visits, and field observations when required.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.\n5-10 years of experience in transportation drainage, hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater management.\nPE license preferred or ability to obtain Tennessee registration.\nExperience designing drainage systems for highways, interchanges, and major transportation projects.\nProficiency with OpenRoads, MicroStation, StormCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, ProjectWise, and similar engineering software.\nStrong understanding of drainage design standards, construction documents, and engineering practices.\nExcellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced Design-Build environment.\nSeize the challenge.
