It also provides specific support to Cintra, Ferrovial’s concession division providing Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and tolling technical support.\nThis is a mid-level role requiring equal emphasis on self-led technical and analytical delivery and collaborative facilitation across teams, business units, and external partners. The role covers both mobility innovation development and ITS/tolling technical support. Programming and AI-augmented working is the default method, not an afterthought.\nThis position will report to the ITS Lead or directly to the Head of CoE. From time-to-time, as needed, the role may be assigned to specific projects that require a more complex matrix management structure.\nThe working place is as per above, but the role may require travelling during short periods of time to other places nationally or internationally. There might also be opportunity/requirement for 2 - 6 month long secondments in other territories, including the US.\nKey Responsibilities\nBusiness Unit Partnership\nPartner with BU teams to identify innovation opportunities, co-develop initiatives, and support operational adoption.\nRepresent CoE4M in workshops, project briefings, and stakeholder outreach, translating BU needs into requirements.\nCoordinate with wider Ferrovial Innovation team to align initiatives and cross-pollinate findings across business lines.\nBrief stakeholders on initiative status/outcomes as needed; represent Ferrovial at external industry events and forums.\nPrototyping & Technical Delivery\nRun hands-on data analysis, technology assessments, and prototypes end-to-end, from concept to proof-of-value.\nUse AI tools/platforms as core working practice for tech dev/integration, modelling and structured deliverables.\nBuild business cases (revenue, cost, and risk models) to support scoping and prioritization decisions.\nScope and coordinate resources (internal & external) where a prototype/initiative requires additional capability.\nITS/Tolling Technical Support\nProvide technical design input, cost estimates, and budget quotes for ITS and tolling supporting bids and concessions.\nMarket Intelligence & Scouting\nMonitor and synthesize developments in data-driven, automated, and autonomous ITS/Tolling/mobility into insights.\nEvaluate vendors/OEMs/products against defined business priorities; initiate and manage engagement as required.\nCapture knowledge, contacts, and ideas from workshops/events/meetings into written summaries for internal reuse.\nProduce technology briefs, white papers, bid content, and presentation materials from the above intelligence.\nKnowledge Sharing\nContribute findings and outputs to the Ferrovial Innovation Community, ensuring visibility across business lines.\nQualifications\nRequired\nDegree in Engineering, Computer/Data Science, or equivalent quantitative/technical discipline or experience.\n2+ years working directly with transport technologies and infrastructure - e.g., ITS, tolling systems (open-road/all-electronic tolling, interoperability standards), traffic management systems or C-V2X/V2X connected-vehicle platforms.\nProven advanced level programming experience, preferably Python, C/C++ or similar\nPractical, hands-on fluency with AI tools beyond consumer chat interfaces - e.g., using LLM APIs or agentic platforms (Anthropic, OpenAI, Copilot Studio) to build structured workflows, using AI-assisted coding for data pipelines or prototypes (Python/SQL preferred), or applying AI to geospatial data/imagery analysis for infra monitoring.\nFluent in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Copilot).\nAble to engage credibly with stakeholders at manager/director level.\nExcellent English required; professional Spanish highly desirable.\nWillingness to travel periodically (domestic and international).
