This includes improving CI performance, strengthening automated testing and verification, enhancing observability, and providing developers with faster, more actionable feedback.\nThis is a software engineering role with a strong backend and platform engineering focus. While you will work closely with CI/CD infrastructure and DevOps technologies, much of your work will involve writing production-quality software, developing testing frameworks, and building tools that improve how engineering teams deliver code.\nAt the Senior II level, you will independently own complex technical projects, make thoughtful design decisions, and collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions. You will help identify opportunities to improve developer workflows and contribute to technical solutions that can scale across Fetch.\nThis is a full-time role that can be held from one of our US offices or remotely in the United States.\nWhat you’ll do at Fetch:\nDesign, build, and maintain CI/CD tooling, automated verification systems, and developer workflows that improve software delivery.\nIndependently own complex technical projects, from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement.\nDevelop backend services, internal tools, and automation that support build, test, validation, and deployment workflows.\nImprove automated testing capabilities, including integration testing, end-to-end testing, contract testing, and performance regression testing.\nBuild and enhance automated quality gates, merge validation, and verification workflows that improve software reliability and release confidence.\nOptimize CI/CD performance through caching, parallelization, infrastructure improvements, and more efficient test execution.\nImprove observability and developer feedback by making pipeline health, test failures, performance regressions, and deployment outcomes easier to diagnose.\nPartner with backend, infrastructure, SRE, security, frontend, and mobile engineers to improve testing practices and developer workflows.\nContribute to technical design decisions, document solutions, and mentor engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.\nExplore opportunities to incorporate AI-assisted development and automated verification into engineering workflows.\nMinimum Requirements:\n8+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on experience with backend systems, CI/CD tooling, developer infrastructure, or platform engineering.\nStrong software engineering fundamentals with experience designing, building, and maintaining production-quality backend services, APIs, or internal tools.\nExperience building or improving CI/CD pipelines, automated testing infrastructure, and software delivery workflows.\nHands-on experience with integration testing, end-to-end testing, contract testing, or performance regression testing.\nExperience with observability, monitoring, and debugging tools, including diagnosing complex application or pipeline reliability issues.\nUnderstanding of API contracts, schema validation, distributed systems, and service integration patterns.\nExperience with cloud infrastructure, containers, and modern DevOps practices, including technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code.\nAbility to independently solve complex technical problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and deliver maintainable solutions.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across engineering teams.\nA developer-focused mindset and curiosity about AI-assisted development and emerging engineering tools.\nPreferred Requirements:\nExperience building internal developer platforms, CI/CD verification frameworks, or developer productivity tooling.\nExperience with CI platforms such as GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or similar systems.\nExperience developing backend services or automation using Go, Python, or similar languages.\nExperience with Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, or other cloud infrastructure technologies.\nExperience building automated quality gates, contract testing frameworks, or reproducible test environments.\nExperience with progressive delivery, canary deployments, merge queues, or artifact-based deployment workflows.\nExperience improving build and test performance across large codebases or distributed engineering environments.\nExperience applying AI or autonomous agents to software development, testing, CI/CD, or operational workflows.\nOpen-source contributions or involvement in developer tooling, infrastructure, or software engineering communities.\nCompensation: At Fetch, we offer competitive compensation packages including base, equity, and benefits to the exceptional folks we hire.
