These solutions will support internal and external requirements in the most effective and efficient manner to meet the needs of the F&G business units as well as external customers. As part of the Order Entry Team, this role will work closely with IT staff & multiple business units (Operations, Sales & Marketing, Product Development, Claims, Legal/Compliance) to identify and document optimal solutions for critical business needs and opportunities, and to facilitate business interaction with F&G IT and external vendors in identifying and implementing those solutions. This position will also include the coordination of testing efforts with outside vendors and distributors, so professional communication skills are a must.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nAct as the subject matter expert for Electronic Order Entry (eApplication) and data feed areas.\nMentor and train less seasoned team members to develop expertise.\nAct as the subject matter expert for Electronic Order Entry (eApplication) platforms, including Firelight, AN4, and Affirm, with configuration responsibilities spanning product setup, workflow/business rules, form and document configuration, and system parameters.\nConfigure, test, and maintain eApplication platform settings (Firelight, AN4, Affirm) to reflect new products, business rules, and process changes, in addition to providing ongoing support, communication, and training to business stakeholders.\nAssist with the interpretation of user requirements into feasible options and communicate this back to the business stakeholders in the form of a requirements document.\nTranslate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to the eApplication Business Analyst.\nEvaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.\nFollow the company development methodology (SDLC) and project lifecycle to manage the requirements documentation & coordination with other departmental units.\nManage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.\nPlan, design & recommend business process improvement and support business activities.\nWork with business functions to identify opportunities for enhanced experience.\nBe forward thinking and identify gaps of requests customers want today and how that may impact future decisions.\nEvaluate critical system defects by determining and communicating priorities based on impacts to business and work toward solutions to resolving them.\nProvide eApplication systems expertise to system users, business partners and other internal/external customers including troubleshooting issues, as well as, identifying and correcting inefficiencies.\nMay be physically located with the business unit or work full time remote with periodic visits to the F&G Home Office in Des Moines, IA.\nSupervisory Responsibilities: This role does not have formal people leadership responsibilities but may provide guidance, mentorship, or subject matter expertise to others.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nAble to succeed in a fast-paced environment while addressing multiple projects and priorities.\nDemonstrated ability to configure eApplication platform rules, workflows, and product setups (e.g., Firelight, AN4, Affirm) rather than solely operating or supporting pre-built configurations.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group to include executives, managers, and subject matter experts inside as well as outside the company.\nWillingness to learn new tools, complex concepts, and processes.\nOrganizational, problem solving, and time management skills.\nAbility to work in a dynamic, team-oriented, collaborative environment.\nAbility to use Microsoft Office Tools (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).\nLogical and efficient, with keen attention to detail.\nKnowledge of industry best practices.\nSound analytical, judgment and decision-making skills.\nStrong customer service orientation.\nExcellent planning and facilitation skills.\nComprehensive understanding of administrative systems and functions and how data feeds and order entry interact with them.\nUnderstands general concepts of financial services/insurance environment, types of information used, how the data is produced, consumed, and transformed.\nUnderstands and can independently perform the requirement gathering techniques necessary for completing requirements documentation.\nPossess strong consultative skills and creativity to suggest enhancements to improve business processes.\nAvailability to work flexible hours or travel (5-10%) if needed to accommodate business needs.\nExperience and Education Requirements\nAssociate or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Relevant experience considered in lieu of degree\n5-10 years’ experience in the financial services industry\n5+ years of Business Analysis experience with demonstrated progression in responsibilities\n3-5 years' experience configuring, enhancing, maintaining, and troubleshooting one or more electronic order entry platforms; direct configuration experience with Firelight, AN4, or Affirm strongly preferred.
