Assists clients during entry and exit from vehicles as necessary and other courtesies. Assumes responsibility for care and maintenance of the vehicle; washes exterior and cleans interior; and ensures maintenance and repair of the vehicle.\nAccountabilities:\nTransport FHI 360 STRIDES Country Office staff, consultants, and visitors to designated approved locations and maintains professional conduct when interacting with passengers onboard.\n\nMaintains accurate and up-to-date vehicle logbooks, mileage records, fuel records, trip authorizations, and daily movement schedules.\n\nConducts daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly reports mechanical defects, damage, or safety concerns to the supervisor.\n\nMonitors and records fuel consumption and mileage, ensuring proper accountability and reporting of fuel usage.\n\nCoordinates with the Fleet/Logistics team for scheduled preventive and day -to- day vehicle maintenance, servicing, repairs, inspections, and replacement of worn-out parts.\n\nReports vehicle accidents, incidents, breakdowns, and security concerns immediately to the relevant supervisor and completes the required documentation.\n\nEnsures all required documents with the vehicle are in order and up to date regarding vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, and necessary spare parts.\n\nAssists with loading, securing, transporting, and delivering supplies, equipment, documents, and other official materials while ensuring proper accountability.\n\nMonitors vehicle insurance, registration, Motor Third Party (MTP), inspection, and other statutory requirements, and alerts the Fleet/Logistics team before expiry.\n\nPlans route and requirements based on schedule or ad-hoc requests by the office.\n\nEnsures passengers adhere to all road safety regulations.\n\nFulfills special requests by picking up and delivering items as directed and running errands.\n\nMay provide protection for clients in locations deemed high risk.\n\nPerforms any other logistics, transport, fleet, or administrative duties assigned by the supervisor in support of FHI 360 programme operations.\n\nSupervision Given/Received:\nGeneral supervision and instructions given for routine work and detailed instructions with periodic work review given for new activities or special assignments.\n\nContacts are typically with individuals or authorized personnel using the office vehicle.\n\nContacts involve office personnel or other authorized individuals\n\nEducation:\nHigh School Diploma/Uganda Advance Education Certificate (UACE)\n\nExperience:\n5 years of experience in driving a project vehicle, preferably for donor funded project.\n\nMust have a defensive driving certificate, a valid driving license and a clean driving record.\n\nDemonstrates defensive driving techniques and exercises sound judgment when operating vehicles under challenging road, weather, traffic, or security conditions.\n\nExperience in the operation of large vehicles; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.\n\nTypical Physical Demands:\nFrequent driving trips with authorized personnel.\n\nAbility to spend long hours driving the office vehicle.\n\nAbility to sit and stand for extended periods of time.\n\nAbility to lift/move up to 5 lbs.\n\nTechnology to be Used:\nPersonal Computer/Laptop, Microsoft applications (i.e., Office 365, SharePoint, Skype/Zoom/Teams), cell phone/mobile technology, and standard office equipment.\n\nTravel Requirements:\nAbility to drive domestically on a daily basis.\n\nThe expected hiring salary range for this role is UGX 16,000,000 - 20,000,000 for annual basic salary.
