Working closely with project and/or Headquarter (HQ) teams, support projects by evaluating programmatic effectiveness, overseeing technical aspects, and providing technical assessment reports.\nAccountabilities:\nThe Laboratory Technician will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:\nTechnical Requirements:\nProvides technical direction and guidance to project staff ensuring alignment with the project expected outcomes with an emphasis on laboratory system and network strengthening.\nSupports technical aspects of projects including staff and partner capacity strengthening.\nMonitors and maintains project protocols, instruments, data sets, manuals, training materials and prepares reports related to technical area of expertise as needed.\nWorks closely with the team to ensure project implementation remains technically sound and adheres to organization’s strategy and standard operating procedures (SOP’s).\nDevelops technical briefs, reports, or other necessary materials to inform research, best practices, policies, and procedures.\nConduct analysis of project implementation to identify areas related to laboratory diagnosis, quality assurance (QA), and network/system for improvement and propose appropriate technical strategies and guidelines.\nAssists with the implementation of research studies by providing technical support and overall management to ensure coordination and field-level implementation. Collaborates with the research and evaluation team to interpret data sets and assessment findings.\nProvides mentorship and fosters team collaboration at task and activity levels.\nCoordinates and leads technical project activities and sub activities and assists with project implementation through work plan development, revision, and regular monitoring and supervision.\nProvides technical support in the development and dissemination of tools, materials, reports, papers, best intervention practices for successful projects and programs.\nMay create technical portion of the project plan, within the given resources and financial constraints.\nAssists team in development, revision and monitoring of technical work plans and budgets.\nParticipate in client / funder meetings and draft reports presentations.\nProject Design Implementation:\nDevelops strategies and tools for the design and implementation of laboratory specific technical components.\nMonitors project deliverables and reports progress to supervisors.\nLeads technical project activities and sub activities and assists with project implementation.\nMay implement components of the technical portions of the project plan.\nIdentifies and discuss issues with team members, including senior technical and management, when relevant.\nOversee compliance with technical, administrative and financial requirements for project deliverables and consultant management.\nOperations Management (Finance, HR, etc.):\nEnsure project activities are on track with work plans, with technical expertise informing project implementation.\nOversees project timelines and budgets.
