It aims to strengthen countries’ capacity across laboratory and surveillance systems to prevent, detect, and rapidly and effectively respond to emerging infectious diseases and other public health threats. STRIDES is a global mechanism, a contract with a five-year (2024-2029) period of performance, led by FHI 360 as the prime, with core partners such as Black & Veatch focusing on biosecurity and biosafety and PATH on surveillance activities.\nMeeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is an eight-year (2019-2027) global health initiative project funded by President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the United States Government (USG). EpiC has a global presence and extensive breadth and depth of technical experience. In FY26, EpiC’s scope in Colombia will expand to include Maternal, Newborn & Child Health (MNCH).\nJob Summary:\nThe Project Manager for the EPIC and STRIDES projects in Colombia will serve as the primary support to the Project Director, providing leadership across both technical implementation and operational management. This role will be responsible for coordinating project planning, overseeing implementation against scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements, and ensuring effective collaboration among HQ, technical teams, country office staff and stakeholders.\nS/he will act as a key liaison between technical and operational teams, ensuring that implementation activities are aligned with project goals and donor expectations. The role will also support business continuity, problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and team development,\nAccountabilities:\nSupport the day-to-day management and coordination of EPIC and STRIDES project activities to ensure achievement of technical, operational, financial, and contractual objectives.\n\nOversee project planning, implementation, and performance monitoring to ensure deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with client requirements.\n\nCoordinate cross-functional teams, including technical, operational, finance, procurement, and administrative staff, to support efficient project execution.\n\nMonitor project risks, issues, and mitigation measures, proactively identifying challenges and recommending corrective actions to senior leadership.\n\nSupport the Project Director in strategic decision-making, stakeholder engagement, and the development of implementation plans that align with project goals.\n\nFacilitate communication and collaboration among project teams, partners, clients, and external stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships and alignment.\n\nEnsure compliance with donor, client, organizational, and regulatory requirements, including quality assurance standards and reporting obligations.\n\nRepresent the Project Director in meetings, decision-making forums, and management discussions, assuming delegated leadership responsibilities as needed.\n\nEnsures the project achieves high quality results in accordance with the targets identified in the work plans, and according to FHI 360 quality assurance and improvement standards\n\nRoutinely analyzes data with subgrantees and proactively identifies areas of intervention to address performance gaps\n\nCoordinates closely with FHI360/EpiC HQ and participates in FHI 360/EpiC/STRIDES HQ meetings as needed\n\nPrepare high-quality project reports, dashboards, presentations, and status updates for headquarters, donor, and other stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with reporting requirements.\n\nSupervise the preparation and maintenance of project documentation, including work plans, risk registers, staffing plans, standard operating procedures, and contractual records.\n\nCoordinate project start-up, transition, and close-out activities, ensuring effective knowledge transfer, asset management, and contractual compliance.\n\nApplied Knowledge & Skills:\nWorks independently and with other agencies to build local community acceptance.\n\nComprehensive knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures with project management, process development and execution.\n\nStrong knowledge of project management software and other technologies.\n\nStrong negotiator and problem solver.\n\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\n\nDemonstrated project and personnel management skills.\n\nAbility to influence, motivate, and collaborate with others.\n\nAbility to adapt and resolve problems/issues to bring project to completion.\n\nCreating and Managing Systems and Processes.\n\nRecognizes the need for standardization and balances client and organization needs in systems design.\n\nAnticipates the effects of process change on people while optimizing task efficiency and simplicity.\n\nEducation: **\nBachelor's Degree or its international equivalent in administration, engineering, social sciences, economics, development, law or a related field.\n\nMaster’s degree or its international equivalent preferred.\n\nExperience: **\nMinimum of 8+ years of relevant experience with project management principles and practices, 2+ years of line management experience required.\n\nPrior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or private organization.\n\nInternational or domestic program development or project management preferred.\n\nProfessional proficiency in English language (read, write, speak) is required.\n\nFluency in Spanish is required.\n\nTechnology to be Used:\nPersonal Computer/Laptop, Microsoft applications (i.e., Office 365, SharePoint, Skype/Zoom/Teams), cell phone/mobile technology, and standard office equipment.\n\nTravel Requirements:\n10% - 25%\n\nThe expected hiring salary range for this role is COP 130,000,000 - 170,000,000 for annual basic salary for national local hire.
