The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing new business with existing customers, and identifying and cultivating new customers. Key measures of success for the Business Development Manager will be growth of sales revenue, and New Business Development Pipeline (NBDP) value. In addition to developing new business, the Business Development Manager will provide valuable customer and market information to help support FMI's business strategy and marketing efforts.\nJob Responsibilities:\nProvide input to and execute the strategy to grow sales \nIdentify and target new customers through research \nDevelop relationships and credibility with stakeholders at current and targeted new customers to identify, initiate and manage to success new opportunities \nProvide product presentations to build awareness and drive FMI sales \nRespond to technical needs of customers, RFQs/RFPs from customers and customer specifications \nConvey our value proposition which will ultimately result in customer specification of products and sales \nProvide insight into value in use to assist in pricing \nWork with internal teams and match our capabilities with customer needs to develop a win/win offering \nDevelop sales forecasts and sales reports \nMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies \nContribute to Marketing Communication efforts including print collateral, website, news releases and technical articles \nParticipate at trade shows and conferences to promote FMI products \nProvide Voice of Customer (VOC) to FMI business teams to enable high value solutions to our customers \nProvide VOC to help develop Technology Roadmaps and assist in developing the definition and business case for new products \nWhat we need from you:\nBachelor’s degree in a business or engineering discipline\n5+ years sales, development, application engineering, or account management experience \nExperience in managing a sales process to achieve product specifications in technical applications \nMust possess a proven track record of successfully building a pipeline of new opportunities with existing or new customers \nStrong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills \nAbility to work with a team and independently when required \nSelf-directed and independent, able to manage time and tasks as required \nAbility to travel domestically and internationally \nAbility to manage multiple projects at a time\nPreferred:\nComposites or materials experience \nAerospace and/or Defense market experience \nConsultative selling approach, with an understanding of value selling \nAbility to work in a “virtual” team, while driving sales success \nStrong communication and interpersonal skills \nAbility to
