As an Engineering Technician, you'll be working hands-on and will be an essential team member responsible for supporting manufacturing production, maintenance, and facilities equipment and processes. This will include design input and fabrication of fixtures, components, and custom tools. As an Engineering Technician, you will also be responsible for assisting with specification and the sourcing of new equipment and production hardware, process and equipment evaluation and troubleshooting, development of manufacturing improvements, and conducting experiments and investigations under the guidance of Engineers. Being an Engineering Technician with FMI also means you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of departments and teams to utilize your experience and develop it further\nJob Responsibilities:\nSupporting initiatives from engineering, production maintenance, and manufacturing operations \nPreparing new equipment for operation and providing support during implementation and initial production \nFabrication or modification of fixtures, tools, jigs, etc. to support equipment and processes \nWorking with the maintenance team to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues \nProviding engineering support to production during equipment trials or process changes \nFollowing all safety practices for handling materials and operating processes \nOperating with a safety-first attitude, being aware of potential hazards and applying proper care and consideration \nUtilizing computer skills such as Microsoft Office \nUsing various forms of PPE will be required at times, such as cartridge respirator, goggles, visors, gloves, aprons, Tyvek suits, etc.\nParticipating in root cause analysis investigations as part of a team and communicating findings and results\nImplementing process improvements and contributing to Lean initiatives\nWhat we need from you:\nHigh School Diploma or GED\n6+ years of technician level work in a manufacturing environment \nHands-on industrial experience, such as servicing or assembling mechanical equipment \nDirect experience with basic fabrication methods, welding, machining, material handling \nAbility to use common hand and power tools, and basic precision measurement devices \nAbility to read, interpret, and execute technical documentation including instructions, procedures, drawings, manuals, work orders, production travelers\nAbility to document and revise process procedures and instructions, and clearly markup drawings for revision\nStrong communication and problem-solving skills\nBasic computer skills;
